“A lovely stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2013

Stayed here last Saturday as part of a group of friends. We all really loved it. The afternoon tea was fabulous as was the meal in The Jetty restaurant. There was a wedding the same weekend but this didn't really impact us too much. The views from the Jetty restaurant were spectacular even though it was dark. A very choppy sea with swans bobbing around!
Rooms and bedding lovely.
My only small disappointment was that the spa area didn't feel like an area to relax in. It had very low lighting and not enough seating. I envisaged lounging around in there and reading a book. Although well equipped and smart it didn't lend itself to that.
All in all a good trip and I would def stay there again.

Room Tip: We had a standard room. It was lovely. I would imagine the rooms overlooking the water would be even...

Just returned from a 2 night stay in a deluxe sea view room! Excellent! Very comfortable stay. All staff members were smiling, happy and very attentive, nothing too much for them. Not able to eat in the Upper Deck restaurant during our stay due to functions taking place Friday and Saturday (Christmas party and wedding) this did not spoil our stay as we were accommodated in The Jetty restaurant - very good meal - the smoked haddock risotto was lovely. Breakfast - good selection to suit all tastes and appetites, although we had 2 eggs on Saturday and only 1 on Sunday - why????
The wedding taking place in the hotel did not interfere with our stay and the music stopped bang on midnight so no problem.
The spa is a haven of peace and tranquility loved it! Wonderful steam room! The salt grotto is a bit weird not sure if it was working correctly! We belong to a local spa near our home and in comparison the pool at the harbour hotel was cold and we noticed that quite a few of the other quests felt the same. The same applies to the Jacuzzi! This was really cool! I thought jacuzzi's were usually quite warm????? My husband has just had a total hip replacement and has had the benefit of a recent course of hydrotherapy, we were therefore looking forward to extending that treatment over the weekend, however it was so cold we were unable to stay in too long. Other guests were observed commenting on the low temperature - this is possibly something the management need to address in order to enhance their guests experience! You cannot fault the cleanliness in the spa - there is always someone cleaning, sweeping, scrubbing and tidying!
Cleanliness in the hotel is also of a high standard.
Thank you very much for a lovely weekend!

I was a wedding guest as part of a family wedding and I cannot stress how wonderful this hotel was. The staff were amazing, the food gorgeous and the rooms were so lovely.

Living only 30 minutes away I still want to find another opportunity to come and stay!

So well done everyone at this hotel, superbly managed and give the guests a wonderful experience.

my husband and I stayed at this hotel on the 6th/7th Dec as our daughter got married here . what can I say , amazing !! staff were accommodating to our needs , polite ,nothing was too much trouble . the whole atmosphere was fab ,. we ate in the upper deck restaurant and the food and menu was excellent , very well enjoyed , we had our young baby granddaughter with us and they warmed bottles and played with her whilst we ate . on the day of the wedding everything went like clockwork which the staff , Chris and Amber looked after us and made sure that everything went to plan and it did ! the hotel was beautiful , wonderful views ,service just perfect . our rooms were very comfortable ,clean , relaxing and well equipped -couldn't fault anything . the gym was well equipped with plenty of equipment , the pool was lovely too .
one member of the team stood out though ,her name was Cher , she was a trooper ! all through the wedding breakfast to when we all went to bed she helped the guests and continued to make sure all was well , she needs a medal ! .
I could recommend this hotel to anybody getting married or staying here in general , a lovely place to stay and be pampered . fantastic !!!

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights as my sister was getting married on the 6/12/13. The first night I stayed i had a meal in the restaurant which was absolutly lovely and the service was fantasic! I had my 11month old daughter with us and the staff where so helpful warming her bottle and getting her a highchair.

On the morning of the wedding all the staff were so accomadating for all our needs but one stood out on the day a lady called Cher who didn't stop all day and night she is a credit to your team.

The wedding breakfast room looked amazing, the food was stunning and all plates were put down at the same time with precision, infact the whole day went like clock work. It was a pleasure staying at the hotel we would not hesitate to make this a recommendation to others.

Big thank you to the whole team it was fab!

We stayed for a wedding reception, whole hotel was sweltering hot, and no one would answer requests to turn the heating down. The prices at the bar varied everything we went to get a drink, at one point we were over charged by £10 on a round of 3 drinks!! And a 10% service charge for them to be poured that they refused to take off at my request! Staff very rude and unhelpful, and we were very much looked down on for being a young couple, compared to others staying in the hotel! Overall I am very disappointed with our stay, as first impressions of the room and hotel were lovely!!

Thank you for writing a review on tripadvisor following your recent stay whilst attending a wedding reception at the hotel .

I am sorry that you found the staff both unhelpful and rude. I can assure you that we consider customer care and service of the utmost importance and as a result of your feedback, I will be monitoring this very closely with my managment team to ensure that all future guests receive our normal level of hospitality at all times.

Furthermore , I am concerned to read that you found that the bar prices varied and the discretionary service charge was not removed at your request . I can again reassure you that this is not our policy and I will be following this up personnally.

Finally ,thank you for the additional feedback regarding the central heating in the Hotel.

Kind regards
