Druid House Guest House

It appears that Angela, the b&b owner was away, hence on our arrival we were met by a guy (who didn't introduce himself) showed us into the lobby, got our keys and asked us to follow him up the stairs. We then struggled with our bags whilst making sure my elderly mother didn't fall and he didn't offer to help once. He just waited at the top of the stairs holding our room door open. A very cold and awkward welcome to an otherwise very nice bed and breakfast.......

I looked at the reviews on Tripadviser before booking this guest house which were overwhelmingly good. Imagine my disappointment then on entering the guest house. If swirly ceilings, decorative wrought iron, ceiling fans with lights and shiny brocade with sequins are your thing you will feel very comfortable here. We didn't! It was clean but that's the best I can say about it. I didn't even have a bedside table on my side of the bed..the car park at the front of the building is so cramped it is almost impossible to get in and out without scraping your car on the brick wall. Breakfast was adequate no more. Luckily we only needed it as a base and I think everyone else seemed to be more than happy, but we won't be going back!

Worth every one of its five stars rating. The standards set and the attention to detail are a credit to the owner. Wonderful location being very close to the town but in a nice quiet road. Can't rate this hotel highly enough.

Room Tip: Can't comment on all the rooms but the ground floor garden room we had was first class.

We have just arrived back from a weeks stay at Druid House. We had a family room with a balcony. It was extremely well presented. The cleaners do a fab job every day. Daisy the waitress is lovely and Angela is always friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the breakfast - lots of choice. We often left the car and travelled by bus, a family ticket for any yellow bus is £7.50 travelling as much as you want all day. We travelled to Bournemouth, Mudeford for crabbing and Highcliff for fun on the beach. We would definitely stay at Druid house again and the children are already asking when we can go back.

We can't recommend this hotel highly enough - have been before and will go again. All of the staff are polite and helpful, the host, Angela, is amazing. The room was unbelievable, it was a garden room and there was hardly any noise. The hotel is ideally situated for the town centre and local restaurants/pubs. If you need somewhere to chill out, this is the place.

Room Tip: As we have been before, we have seen most of the rooms and all are all of an excellent standard - bu...
