Description: Mendi’s restaurant is all about vegetarian home cooking offering authentic Indian cuisine in an informal setting. The majority of Indian cuisine is vegetarian and it is this taste of India that Mendi’s restaurant offers its customers. The restaurant is family friendly and promotes the family tradition with good nutritious food at its heart.

Superb vegetarian food in an intimate, family atmosphere - a must if you are in the area. We were made so welcome even though we didn't know what to expect. Mendi was there when we arrived and welcomed with a big if shy smile. Her grandchildren were helping to run things in a restaurant which we discovered used to be their home.

I have driven past Mendi many times and may not have gone in were it not for a good write up about this restaurant in the local paper. We ate there on a Saturday night and the restaurant was nearly full.

The atmosphere and decor are superb. The service was as good as could be expected on a busy Saturday evening. The waiter was cheerful and helpful. Most importantly the food was of a high standard and looked and tasted freshly cooked.

You bring your own alcohol here and on my table there was a thoughtfully placed cork screw. In the unlikely event that you forget to bring alcohol with you if you need it there is a garage a short distance away on the same side of the road which sells acceptable wine and beer.

The aspect you see from the road is in fact the back of the restaurant. There is ample parking at the front and the entrance is pleasing and enticing.

I would travel a distance to eat at this restaurant but fortunately I will not have to because it is very close to my home. I have plans to come back at least three times in the near future to bring friends and would advise anybody who likes good Indian food to give this place a try.

Booking is advisable especially at the weekend.

This is a hidden away gem of a place in Droitwich, sandwiched between McDonalds and a Harvester restaurant near the M5 junction. Don't be put off by the location, this is a super family restaurant. The food is as near to home cooked as you can get (the restaurant actually was the owner's house until she converted it to a restaurant)
The owner is a life long vegetarian and it shows in the food - there is a lot of paneer (Indian cheese) dishes which are quite tasty, honestly you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Extremely reasonable prices - just bring your own bottle if you want, they aren't licensed and don't over-order. It should come out around £10 per head. They also do a good take-away business.
