This is a hidden away gem of a place in Droitwich, sandwiched between McDonalds and a Harvester restaurant near the M5 junction. Don't be put off by the location, this is a super family restaurant. The food is as near to home cooked as you can get (the restaurant actually was the owner's house until she converted it to a restaurant)
The owner is a life long vegetarian and it shows in the food - there is a lot of paneer (Indian cheese) dishes which are quite tasty, honestly you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Extremely reasonable prices - just bring your own bottle if you want, they aren't licensed and don't over-order. It should come out around £10 per head. They also do a good take-away business.

We dined here last weekend having read an excellent review of the restaurant in our local paper. As lovers of Indian food and vegetarians for the past 25 years we were excited to try this indian vegetarian restaurant, and we weren't disappointed. What a little gem we have discovered! The decor and ambience is warm and friendly as was the welcome we received. The menu is extensive and for a change we were spoilt for choice. The food we had was all beautifully presented and delicious. We both had poppadums, a starter and main each, a side and a shared rice and nan for under £25 which i would say represented excellent value.
Already looking forward to my next visit!

Mendi is a relatively newly-opened restaurant just off Junction 5 of the M5, near Droitwich, and has off-road parking at the rear. The menu is entirely vegetarian, and as there is no alcohol licence, they operate a "bring your own" policy.

The welcome is friendly, and the small but well-lit dining room was busy all evening. Because of this, the service was a little slow, but as there were ten of us I wasn't surprised.

The vegetarian menu is varied, about the same number of dishes as in a normal Tandoori restaurant. All the food I tasted was really very good and the portions were plentiful. Due to the lack of over-priced beer and wine, the bill was very low.

A very enjoyable evening, I shall definitely be going back soon.
