Description: The Red Lion recently (March 2014) completed a £350,000 refurbishment and now offers a fantastic pub/restaurant option in the heart of Egham town centre. In addition to our two regular real ales (Harvey's, Sussex Best & Purity's Mad Goose)we offer an ever changing list of four other guest ales. Our draught lager range includes Peroni & Becks, ciders are Aspals & Thatchers as well as a great choice of bottled fruit ciders. We stock all leading spirit brands and a wine list offering more than 20 wines all available by the glass and bottle. Our menu is based on home cooked British Pub classic dishes. Our head chef sources as much produce as he can from local suppliers. All meat, fish and vegetables are delivered daily from locally renowned suppliers. We have a great al fresco dining area, we show sports via SKY & BT and for those that prefer conversation to sport we have a TV free section. We feature entertainment on weekends and great friendly service at all times. Check out our website for full event details, menus and loads of pictures. We look forward to welcoming you to our pub.

Popped in with my Fiancee for a quick drink and both left soon after. The place was full of men and had a very oppressive feeling. Low ceilings and a couple of aggressive drunks. We'll not be hurrying back.

We had lunch here this week. The pub has a nice outside sitting area that offers fantastic atmosphere. The food isn't the greatest, but then th Pericles also reflect the qualit you the food. The service isn't the best. The staff, specially at the bar are overwhelmed by customers at busy periods...and the stress reflects back to the service provided to the customers.

I have never encountered such rudeness in a pub before. A group of us have been three or four times for lunch, so it was not a one off, the owners/ staff are incredibly rude.

The landlady appears to be genuinely offended if you come in for food without booking, which for a simple pub with no customers seems a little over the top. She also loudly slates you from round the corner if you ask for something troublesome, such as beans instead of peas. Probably while she is pouring your diet coke from a bottle of sainsbury's own round the corner.

If I could give this 0 out of 5 I would.

went to this place just for a leaving drink with a few others. It appears that we were not welcome as there was no real greeting from the person behind the bar. I was driving so asked for a bottle of water, "got none" was the reply so i asked for a bottle of diet coke, again "got none" but we have it on tap so i opted for that, it was not actually on tap but poured from a large bottle round the back of the bar where you couldn't see that it was obviously some disgusting supermarket cheap stuff at about 50p for 2 litres which they then charged around £2 for a 1/2 pint, not a bad profit margin. My companion asked for a spritzer but they had no soda water, then asked for cider but guess what....... they didn't have that either. No wonder it was virtually empty when we arrived and we left it empty when we departed. First and definitely last visit to this place. Although the dog was friendly, maybe you should teach it to serve cos it was alot nicer than the person serving!!
