“Courtyard Room = fancy name for room overlooking carpark!!”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

My husband and I have just returned from an overnight stay here and although the resort and views are beautiful, we feel our experience was ruined by the so called courtyard room which overlooks the carpark. The noise from coaches and cars arriving was very annoying especially being woke at 7.30am to the sound of the coach engine being left running for nearly 40 minutes. Cant believe a 5 star hotel does not have air conditioning in the rooms, the heat in our room was unbearable through the night and the windows only opened a tiny amount. Left feeling tired after not having a great nights sleep and being woke by coaches and noisy guests departing. Maybe the hotel should state courtyard rooms overlook carpark with considerable noise!!

Cant really comment on the food as we had a look at both menus for blaney bar and catalina restaurant and nothing really appealed to us so we went to Killyhevlin for our dinner and had a fantastic meal there. The cooked breakfast wasn't great.

Room Tip: If you are looking a relaxing break do not chose Courtyard room as it overlooks the carpark u will h...

Dear Shaunaf1980,
The Courtyard Rooms do overlook the entrance to the Hotel where some of the car parks are situated and it was regretable that a coach was departing early on the morning of your stay.Apologies that your night's sleep was interupted in this way.Unfortunately all our rooms do not have a Lake view and the provision of air conditioning during the recent warm spell ,would have been most welcome but it is only provided in the public areas.Fans for the bedrooms are available upon request during good weather.
Maybe you would advise me of your next visit to the Resort and I can enhance your stay in some way.
Yours sincerely,
JOHN

Spent a friday to saturday at the Resort, area breathtaking scenery. Fishing, golf. Rated 5 star and looks and does all that. All staff very helpful and appeared interested to help the guest. Used the spa area unfortunately wife too late to book treatments but pool, sauna etc top standard and clean.
Food on the menu was tasteful but quite a number of the items had a supplementary fee, this can add considerably to an already set bill.
The area and walks great. On the friday a guy playing the piano in the main bar again good would also be good if other music even a group on. I would go again without question even if it was just for the scenery.

Room Tip: Additional slight cost book rooms overlooking the water or hire one of the lodges 1-4 if possible.

Dear Smickair,
I was disappointed to read that your wife was unable to experience one of the many treatments on offer at the Thai Spa due to the high demand during your recent stay. The scenery is 'unbelievable' as you mentioned and the walks throughout the resort are a great way of relaxing with stunning views of the lakes.

Delighted to hear you will be visiting us again and hopefully have a spa treatment next time round !!

Stayed 2 nights in July and played golf at both Castle Hume and Faldo courses. The hotel was excellent - good service, very comfortable rooms with lovely bathroom. Breakfast was superb with choice of buffet and cooked to order. Staff very helpful and friendly. All that you would expect from 5 star. The hotel is a few miles from Enniskillen with glorious views of the lakes from the hotel, golf course and walkways around the course. Used pool / sauna which is of high standard. Castle Hume golf just about ok but Faldo course was magnificent in terms of course condition, layout and interest of holes and the great views on each hole. Halfway House a great resting point. Overall really enjoyed and will return.

This is a truly fantastic resort. From we arrived till we left, I couldn't say one negative thing. The staff were so knowledgeable, not only about the resort but the whole surrounding areas. Great selection of teas for the "afternoon tea", and when it came to our evening meal, our dedicated waiter was able to explain the infusion of tastes in every meal on the menu. We could nearly taste each meal as it was described, which made the final choice difficult, in a good way. He was able to advise on complimentary wines for each dish also. He is an asset to Lough Erne definately. The waitresses were also very well trained and knowledgeable. When it came to eating, it was exquisite. No other words could describe it. Fantastic menu. The concierge was friendly, helpful and welcoming, obviously another asset to the resort. All in all, amazing place, very highly recommended.

We have just returned from a one nights stay at the fabulous Lough Erne Resort, it was my fourth visit so I knew what to expect. There is always a warm and friendly greeting in the hotel and always the aroma of smoking turf even in summer.
We ate lunch in the bar which was top notch. the room was smaller than I remember and the location wouldn't be to everyone's taste as it overlooked the service area so there was a lot of noise early in the morning didn't bother us as we are early risers.
The Breakfast was a top notch buffet with high quality food.
The only downside was the missing airconditioning, the room was pretty hot so we had to open the windows, they only open a small amount so the remain remained stuffy throughout our stay.

Room Tip: Go for rooms with a lake view, little bit more expensive but worth it to be away from the car park

Dear alicailin,
Delighted you enjoyed your recent 'Birthday Treat ' and that you are a regular visitor to Lough Erne Resort. The Blaney Bar menu is very popular among our guests and thank you for your kind remarks.
Apologies for the lack of air conditioning in your room but it was only installed in the public areas of the hotel when it was been constructed. The recent spell of hot weather has been
prolonged and fans are available upon request.
Kind regards

Hi. This is the third time that the group has used this resort for our Golf Outing. It is a corporate outing and there are about 80 of us. We arrive in the morning to check in and have a snack before we get down to the serious business of Golf!! On arrival we checked in in an area set aside for us. We were given our room keys, our golf buggy allocations, our goody bags and there were a bacon butties available if you wanted one.

My room was a good size and well furnished. The bathroom was great as well. Tea and coffee was available in the room. I had no issues with the room other than it did not overlook the lake.

On other occasions on this outing i have had a corner room overlooking the lake and was beautiful. The hotel is a wonderful place to come to to relax and play some golf and for strolls.

The hotel is several miles outside the town of Enniskillen and you will need a car if you wish to go to the town.

The golf course was in great condition as we arrived 2 days after the G8 summit. The hotel grounds were also in perfect condition. For you golfers keep the ball on the fairway as the rough is rough!

For dinner that night I had the salmon and I must say is was cooked perfect. I always fear meals at conferences and they may be pre-cooked and just kept warm and are not great. Well done to the kitchen staff.

I didn't have breakfast the next morning as I am losing weight and I did not want to indulge in an Ulster Fry with the trimmings

This report is fairly short because all went well, the room was great, the golf was great, the food was great, the party afterwards was great.

This is a great place to crash out and relax.

Room Tip: ask for one overlooking the lake
