“A museum not too in your face”
Reviewed July 25, 2014

The displays were well done and not too complicated.
Not a big museum but fills a couple of hours with a bit of education about the town.
Loved the military vehicle display outside.
Pity nowhere for refreshments.

“Military focus may not interest all”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

A big part of the exhibit in the castle focuses on the long history of the local famed army regiments. There is a wealth of information on those units. It includes many detailed artifacts including medals and uniforms. If that sort of thing does not interest you, there is less reason to visit that part of the museum. There is also information on the general history of the castle and the local clans that ruled.

I was especially interested in the exhibit on the excavation of the Drumclay Crannog. I'm not sure if that is a permanent part of the museum. I found it to be a fascinating exhibit on the actual process of the excavation and what has been learned about the life and the dwelling structures of those ancient peoples.

“Enniskillen Castle”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

Lovely attraction. Interesting at all levels, adults and children alike. Lovely clue trail to make children seek out answers from displays and learn as they go. Not a large museum, 1 hour tops I expect with children. Just down the path from great park which is a good starting point as it gives a lovely view of the castle.
