Have just spent a weekend at this lovely retreat. We also had to cancel the last night of our stay and the management did everything possible to re sell our rooms. We will definitely be back next year, I hope the seagulls will have turned down their volume control. Sue, Phil and Richard.

Just got back from an excellent three night break at OQH where we were made to feel very welcome.
We stayed in room 12 at the top, lots of space, fantastic views from french doors and window on opposite side of room, massive bed and very smart modern bathroom. We thought the cost was a little pricey for B&B but it was a treat and worth it.
The breakfasts were excellent, quality ingredients, and they were happy to oblige when I asked for a breakfast sandwich that wasn't on the menu.
The home-made granola was to die for - the best I've ever tasted anywhere in the world!
Without exception all of the staff were cheerful, polite and friendly, especially reception and front of house.
We loved it!

This was my 4th stay at The Old Quay House Hotel and once again my friends and my husband and i had such a great time . The Management team are always so friendly and welcoming and know just how to take care of you and make you feel special, without being too intrusive.
The hotel is right in the centre of this busy little town and when you can drag yourself away from the terrace there are some great shops Fowey as well as a couple of good pubs , what more could one ask for . We tried a few places to eat in but I have to say that the best food we had was at the hotels own restaurant Q . The mackerel stater was to die for .......

We always try and stay in a room with a view of the water but this time as the hotel was so busy we had a classic room - not sure what the previous reviewers problem is because we thought the classic room was great and whilst it didn't have a water view it was furnished in exactly the same stylish way as the other rooms .Our friends were in room 5 and so we compared ! We all had lovely White Company toiletries , large bottles of water ,books and magazines to read , fresh milk and free DVD's and we loved the idea of a bar of chocolate for the journey home .
Cornwall has some great boutique hotels , we love The Driftwood and the Boskerris too , but Fowey and The Old Quay House
is our favourite .

A 3 day stay started with the warmest of welcomes and the first of many nice touches with Martin helping unload the car in the main street whilst we were in a traffic jam. A guided tour of the hotel revealed so many nice touches, from mini fridge in the passage way with fresh milk for our tea, filtered water in our rooms, shower coats in our wardrobes, free Wi-Fi, everything needed in the room even a certificate for specialist, ethical cleaning of the mattress to eradicate mites etc.
The restaurant and food were superb with the option of eating out on the pier/riverside terrace where if it turned cold you could get a blanket from inside.
The staff are extremely helpful and professional and any complaints are dealt with in totally accommodating manner (not that we had any - we saw one being dealt with well).
The hotel is in an old building, on the estuary's edge and thus has the natural and normal nocturnal noises from creaky floorboards, church bells, river business and seagulls. Please be aware that these are not in the gift of the hotel management to control and are implicit when you visit a quaint Cornish harbour town. Notwithstanding these we were delighted with our reception, treatment and stay and WILL be staying there again.

We stayed at the hotel for 5 days and enjoyed every minute of it. Very helpful and friendly staff. Offering help whenever necessary, providing tips for good dinner (yes outside the hotel). We had a deluxe room top floor and had the view of the harbor. Worth the extra cost. Room spacious and a big bath room, for a small hotel.
Breakfast a true delight and the staff ever so friendly and attentive. we would go back there anytime. Yes we were lucky with the weather in Cornwall and had 5 days of sun and blue sky.

Room Tip: try to get a room that faces the river Fowey. It is worth it.

I stayed at the Old Quay House Hotel in Fowey with my husband for a week in July. This is a really perfect place for a trip to Cornwell. In the evenings we sat on the deck at the back of the hotel, with a glass of wine, watching all the activities on this busy little harbour. The dining room is a delight and the breakfasts even better. Our room was small but lovely and the staff very professional and extremely friendly and helpful. The front door takes you right onto a busy little narrow street which cute shops and restaurants - lots of options for lunch and dinner. Fowey is a great base for a trip to cornwell and The Old Quay House Hotel it THE place to stay. Thank you for a lovely getaway.

Room Tip: Bit of a walk to car but you can pick up and drop off at front door

We stayed at the Old Quay House for 5 days. What a beautiful place and ideal location for a holiday in Fowey. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made our stay a real pleasure. We stayed in a deluxe double room which was absolutely beautiful, very clean and nicely decorated. The harbour view was spectacular! Breakfast was fantastic and the dinner we had was great, on the expensive side though, but worth it. I can highly recommend this hotel.
