“Perfect place to stay”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

This really was a perfect place to stay. This was the first time we had stayed on a working farm and it was a perfect choice. Cockerals crowing first thing, lots of baby lambs playing in the meadows cattle and horses also. Own fresh eggs for breakfast, just heavenly.
Perfect Hosts including their two lovely daughters made us feel at home as soon as we arrived with a much appreciated cuppa. The rooms were spacious and spottless making our three night stay very comfortable, being a party of two couples we had the use of the guest lounge with TV to ourselves and even the use of the kitchen if we wanted which is so unusual in a B&B. Jill cooks a perfect breakfast and well deserves her breakfast award. Jeremy's stories of farming and of the surrounding area was so interesting and at times very amusing, as was his tour around the farm.
This farm is in such a beautiful area with so much to do and see. We will be back. Thankyou.

This is a great B&B in an excellent location, being perfect for jumping onto the coast path or the Saint's Way.

Just a few minutes walk is the beach down at Polkerris, which is pretty and has two great options for eating out.

The B&B was very clean and nice and quiet. Guests have a TV room and use of the kitchen facilities and garden.

The breakfast on the morning is excellent, as well!

I have just returned yet again from Tregaminion after an idylic weekend relaxing and marvelling at the energy of Jill and Jeremy and their 2 daughters. We were invited to help feeding the baby lambs which is not something a 'townie' ever gets to do. Our last visit a few years ago coincded with baby owls in the barn nesting box - there's always something going on!
The breakfast lived up to my memories and everything was brilliant accomadation-wise.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at Tregaminion Farm at the end of our Dorset and Cornwall holiday. The rustic simplicity and charm were the perfect conclusion to our trip and provided a refreshing change after nearly a week in hotels. We were well looked after by Jill and Jeremy, two of the nicest people you could ever meet. We agree with all the praise and positive comments of the earlier reviews.

The double room was clean, comfortable and a good size. The full English breakfast was excellent and the toasted home made bread was delicious. Jill's suggestions for walks, visits and eating were all spot-on and saved us a lot of time.

The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are only 5 and 11 miles away, respectively, and worth a visit as is The Roseland Peninula and St Mawes just a bit further on. There are many good walks nearby - we especially liked the one to Gribben Head which passes a lovely secluded beach. The highlight for us though was the tour of the farm with Jill and Jem which was an informative and uplifting experience. We learnt so much about farming, conservation and the difficulties presented by the lack of rain this year.

Direction Tip - after leaving the Fowey road the farm is straight ahead about half a mile or so (left by the little church). Using the farm postcode, our sat-nav tried to take us (right) down the narrow, steep lane to Polkerris - don't go there!

As others have suggested, this may not suit those looking for luxury accommodation with all the trimmings but for anyone else we would strongly recommend Tregaminion Farm. We hope to return.

Jill and Jeremy make you feel so at home, that after just a couple of hours you feel you have known them all our lives. The accomodation is spotless. The breakfasts are to die for. You have full use of the kitchen facilities, including washing machine. Nothing is too much trouble for them. With it being a working farm too, it adds to the character. Jeremy and Jill also even went out of their busy schedule to show me, my wife, niece and sister in law around the farm. With it being lambing season, it was an added bonus. The dogs on the farm are hilarious and friendly.
You also have something that other people in the vacinity don't have. That is a parking space, where you can leave your car and walk to Polkerris beach within five minutes, going across the footpath through the trees and down to Polkerris. This has to be better than attempting to go down the narrow road to Polkerris.

I have stayed here 5 times now and I absolutely love it. Ideal for a family trip, I stay with my sister/brother in law and their 3 small children. I probably get the best deal, as the second double room (the larger one without the ensuite family room) is definitely the larger of the 3 rooms and has a huge bathroom (hence my score of 4 for the rooms). We have the whole of the front of the house and big garden to ourselves, although Jill and Jeremy are attentive hosts (without being in any way intrusive) and often pop by to check all is OK or just to have a chat. They are lovely people and the breakfasts are delicious. Very flexible accomodation, we can eat in and self cater if we want, or Jill offers good home cooking, or we can eat out at the fantastic Rashleigh arms (20 min walk) or Sam's restaurant (fantastic seafood, also 20 min walk). Then there are the lovely coastal walks from the doorstep and Fowey, with its wonderful shops is a very short drive or reasonable walk away. Whilst it doesn't offer all the mod cons (no cable TV, internet, white towelling bathrobes etc), for an out and about Cornish holiday, it provides a lovely, traditional, rustic base that you will want to return to.

We just returned from a trip to the UK and staying at Tragaminion was definitely one of the highlights. The farmhouse itself is very simple, but comfortable (comfortable rustic... if you're looking for luxury, go elsewhere). Tragaminion is a working farm with cattle, sheep and some pigs and horses. Jill and Jeremy, the owners, are very nice and hospitable. From my family's viewpoint, the location of the farm couldn't have been better. It's very rural, but has excellent walks starting at the front door. A quick (15 minutes or so) walk down to Polkerris offers two good restaurants, wonderful views, and the opportunity to rent windsurfers or kayaks. We also walked out to Gribben Head along the tops of cliffs as beautiful as any I've seen.
