Everyone seems to agree you cant fault the view our room(9)was spacious clean and bright the en suite shower and toilet was small but o.k.the shower was especially good and always hot.The wash basin is in the bedroom,no problem for us.We found the staff without exception cheerful and efficient. Our luggage was delivered to our room and back to the car on departure. All good so far but I am truly sorry cannot praise the food.Frozen chips and veg all pre cooked and warmed up for service a lack of any freshly prepared meals.Exceptions were the seafood chowder, crab bisque ,my wife enjoyed a nice piece of sole.We didnt enjoy fish and chips, belly pork, confit of duck etc.all overcooked.Breakfast was good every morning.Food good and hot service fine.Final comment about the parking I had no problem at all and always found space in the carpark. This couple of old uns managed the couple of yards up the hill no problem.

Called here for some lunch having completed the hall walk.

Old bar offering meals and snacks, welcome by bar staff not particularly friendly, and just not as good as our visit was some years ago and us calling again. Has lost some of its appeal and service and food was average.

This is a very old inn trying to function in the 21st century with all it's rules and regulations. It needs a fortune spending on it to make it what it is trying to be.
The rooms are clean and basic but the bathrooms are almost unusable in this day and age. There is no room to put a toilet bag and anyone weighing more than 65 kgs would find it impossible to turn around. Surely it would be better to put in space-saving, walk- in showers in these old places and get rid of the baths.
The restaurant served very acceptable food and the service was charming.
The breakfasts were very good, with something for everyone, even the health conscious.
The service at breakfast was as good as it could be with only one person on duty. The charming lady made me feel tired just watching her stoic effort to please everyone.
The parking was as good as it could be not withstanding the fact that the inn is on a very steep hill. The views were exceptional, both from our room and the restaurant.

Room Tip: Very difficult for anyone with mobility problems.

We decided to eat at the Old Ferry on the last day of our holiday this year, which turned out to be a mistake. Maybe they were very busy because of the bad weather and a full hotel, but the service was truly terrible. And the food was worse. I wish they would decide whether to be a restaurant and serve restaurant quality meals (and no, draping a stick of chives over your dinner does not constitute fine dining, and it is usually expected to have menus not printed on flimsy A4 paper and the table laid when booking in advance) or simply provide bar meals. As it was, we were charged restaurant prices for very mediocre and in at least one case, inedible offerings.

Drop the "Crab Bisque", the "Dauphinoise Potatoes" and the "Asparagus Tarte which had come from Aldi then warmed up" and instead concentrate on providing good food at sensible prices.

We've just had 3 wonderful nights here. Incredible views from bedroom window across to fowey, magical at night. The staff are so helpful, friendly, delightful. Pasquale is very lucky to have them though he must be a good boss for them to be so happy! Suppers were delicious, seafood chowder & starter of crab bisque in particular. Recommended to visit farmer's caravan at st werrow for lunch. River cruises great fun.

Room Tip: They automatically give you a river view so if not available pick another date. Don't not go!

Stayed one night. Lovelly place with amazing views. Unfortunately the location is difficult and driving complicated due to this. Parking very restrictive.
Having said this. The food was fine and rooms livable. All in all a great stay but parking and driving could do with an overhaul. Realy enjoyable stay

Views from the deck, fabulous; service good; ploughman's - miserly salad.

The ham ploughman's had thick-cut slices of ham, but that was the only positive. Salad garnish - tiny tiny cubes of cucumber - maybe a quarter of a slice each. HALF a pickled onion. more than £7. Rip off frankly, which is a pity because the location is great and the service good.
