Really friendly hotel with fabulous views. Fowey is a great spot for a weekend away. Staff were very helpful. Parking is, as they warn, very limited so if you are driving budget for parking charges.

Overall highly recommended.

This is a fabulous hotel with spectacular views across the bay from all the main public rooms and also from our bedroom. The hotel was built in Victorian times - and she feels like a grand old lady - and yet all the facilities are modern. The staff are cheerful and helpful and the food is excellent. This is the second time we have stayed there and we can't fault it. We can't wait to go again.

Room Tip: Definitely worth getting a room with a sea view.

Even the foul weather could not spoil a great stay at the Fowey Hotel as we returned for the third time. Great food, fabulous views (when it is not raining) and a lovely warm welcome from everyone. I am sure we will go back

With the faded charm of yesteryear, The Fowey Hotel gives excellent value for money in a location that's second to none. The staff were never less than charming and went out off their way to make us feel welcome and at home. The food was delicious and imaginative and as a vegetarian it was a pleasure not to see cheese or pasta on the vegetarian menu! The hospitality tray in our room was filled with choice including fresh coffee. If you like a swish, crisp, trendy 'boutique' hotel, I doubt The Fowey is your thing but if you want to sit in a slightly threadbare armchair by a flickering fire reading your favourite novel in the peace and quiet (no piped music here), while outside the waves crash or lap against the rocks...this is for you! Ohhh and the sun shines on this hotel even in winter.

Built in 1882, the hotel has retained many features such as elegant public rooms, high ceilings and the much-mentioned old-fashioned lift. Yet the furnishings are up-to-date and comfortable. Our bedroom had a four-poster and a jacuzzi in the bath. The view is well worth the upgrade.

Food was superb, well cooked and beautifully presented. There is limited menu choice but each dish comes with different and appropriate accompaniments.

The customer service is excellent. We changed our plans due to the bad weather and rang ahead to see if they could fit us in a day early. This was efficiently and pleasantly handled. Reserving a parking space, even in mid-winter, is essential and they put your name on the space.

We love the south Cornwall coast, especially around Fowey and Falmouth but find the north coast less attractive. The beaches are attractive in the north but what a pity that they are a dog-haven. On a cold January Sunday, with the thermometer just above zero, the surfers were out in force and it was hard to find somewhere to park.

We would love to go again in spring.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a view and ask which floor you will be on. Some of the premium rooms are downstai...

Have just had another break at the Fowey Hotel, our second visit.
This is a wonderful hotel to relax in. The food is excellent well worth being DBB. The customer service from all the staff is always faultless.
Even in January the hotel looked full which just goes to show it's not just us who love this hotel. We will be back.

Room Tip: Get a sew view room it really is worth the extra money.

I have stayed at The Fowey Hotel many times over the years. This time I returned after a stay at the Waldorf Astoria in New York where 'charm and manners' were absent across the entire hotel - one example being a two hour wait for room service to bring me soft drinks . . . nothing could be more opposite at The Fowey Hotel where old fashioned service courtesy and manners were evident troughout my visit - and where ones' requests were met with efficiency with no 2 hour wait! In my experience of staying at hotels it is rare to find one which has such exacting standards and where the staff actually appear to be pleased to see you!
Having had no reply to my five page complaints to the Waldorf Astoria I intend to conntact them again and sugest that their staff might benefit from a training session in courtesy and manners from the Fowey Hotel. I very much look forward to my next stay in March.

Room Tip: I particulary like rooms 101 and 102 which have a sideways Estuary view and are excellent value.

Made famous by the celebrated authoress, Daphne du Maurier, and ranked as one of the UK’s most desirable locations, the pretty Cornish town of Fowey, is a delight to explore.
