“Good place to visit”

Old fashion quality hotel with great views and a good restaurant which can't always be said of UK hotels. Staff very friendly but car parking was a bit awkward in view of restricted space. One plus point was a Real Ale on tap - well done to the management as most hotels are not bothered about offering good quality beer.

Efficient and welcoming. A diplomatically worded charter for your dog encouraging them (you) to be thoughtful, a lovely doggy bag for your dogs including blankets, poo bags, treat. A great view from the room over the estuary. Bed a bit soft for our backs but the bath was great after walking the coastal path for the day. Excellent meals, good choices. Car park small but efficiently managed to get everyone in, your name posted on the car park slot is a welcome sight when you arrive. This was our second visit to this hotel, we took two large dogs with us and received smiles from all staff.

Room Tip: Ask for estuary view, it's great.

The Fowey Hotel is quite quaint with a crazy lift but fabulous views which are reflected in the price. We paid extra for a sea view and to wake up each morning and see the river meeting the sea was a joy. The food was very good and the staff friendly. A lovely break in a gorgeous location

We booked two nights dinner bed and breakfast at a special autumn offer price and were very pleased with our stay. Large and comfortable room up on the top floor, two good dinners, large breakfasts kept us going all day and one little touch we particularly enjoyed was the complimentary cream tea. We enjoyed that after we came back from a day's walking across on the other side of the estuary and sat in the lounge as dusk approached and watched the lights come on across in Polruan.
In the comments I left on the hotel's own form, I mentioned the heavy condensation on the inside of the windows after a cold night. I think they need to invest in double glazing, although not because the room was cold. It was very comfortable.

This is at least our 5th visit to Fowey Hotel. As always the food was excellant. This visit was for a special cheese lovers weekend. We were not dissapointed and it was lovely to get to know others like ourselves who like cheese. The room was a good size and clean and welcoming with a good variety of teas and coffee in the room. The view from the bar is so relaxing looking out over the river. The hotel is situated between the town and the beach so take your pick which way you go. Both an easy walk. Advisable to book carparking which can be tight but there is very little parking in Fowey and the walk to the car park is not the easiest (up hill!)
We will be returning and thinking of going in the summer instead of going abroad. Its a shame the hotel have no control over the weather.!

My wife and I stayed for a cheese themed weekend break. On arrival we were treated to a cheese scone tea by the ever so polite and friendly staff. The views from the lounge and dining rooms are superb and instantly we felt the stresses of city life lift. The evening meals although not ground breaking are very well prepared , possibly not enough choice for pure vegetarians if you're used to the variety in London but my wife does eat fish occasionally so we were well served. The hotel had arranged a trip to a working Cornish cheese farm which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. That evening meal was insisted off by a wine and cheese tasting with both a local cheese and wine expert matching their various wares to great effect. Local walking is superb which is just as well with the calories consumed. This was our second visit to this hotel and we will definitely be back.
