“The place for cream teas.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2013 via mobile

A lovely unique tea shop that has served me the best cream tea of my stay down here. So good I came back and had another one. If you find yourself anywhere near Fowey then come here and treat yourself.

“Crab Sandwiches and Fab Carrot Cake”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

If you don't mind perching on tight wobbly tables, and you don't mind eating a seasidy delight in a rather sedate tearoom when by the sea, then this improbable and hard to spot place in the main street through Fowey is the place for Crab Sandwich and Carrot Cake. At the end of the afternoon they seemed to be the only place in Fowey still fulfilling this need with whoppingly good doorstops of a sandwich and the carrot cake was just as fantastic. We even got the recipe to try. Rather dodgy arrangement for the loos here, however - not sure how that is allowed to function - in one of the B&B rooms, which is sort of cordoned off for those spending a penny!!

“Lovely High Tea”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

We have heard of this restaurant from friends and we were not disappointed. The interiors brings us back to the Victorian era and sets the mood for a proper Engligh high tea experience. The teas and smoothies are yummy and the high tea was just delightful! We had 3 different sandwiches, a scone each with rich clotted cream and amazing jam then 2 slices of cake. By some miracle, they randomly chose a chocolate cake and a cheese cake which me and my husband loves!

“Lovely, charming tea shop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

I've been to this little tea shop a few times now and will definately go again whenever we have friends and family visit us. The first time I went with friends was in the summer and it was a delightful lunch, portion sizes and price were spot on and staff were attentive and friendly. We sat in the courtyard with the sun creeping in. The second time was for a hot chocolate in February on a freezing cold day. We'd walked from Readymoney Beach into the town and although we had passed other places to sit down, they were either closed or not as welcoming or quaint as this one. It's always a shame to see shops closed and not offering the locals and tourists a choice (it was a Thursday afternoon in half term!). I will always bring my friends and family to this tea shop and not the others for all those reasons.

“Great afternoon tea ( just remember no cards!)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013 via mobile

Brilliant freshly baked scones on the cream tea that means just a little extra wait , and ensures always full! Serve great Cornish tea from tregothnan and at least 3 large cups per person in a pot! Great kea plum jam with the savory tea. Feels like a step back in time, a family treat when in Fowey.
