“Excellent food!”

We were amazed at the quality and presentation of the food at the Ship. It was way above what one would expect for a 'bar meal'. The staff are very friendly too - we'll definitely be eating there again.

“Flexible, Inventive & Good for Advice”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

This is a straight forward pub but with a sort of brasserie feel to one side in a very popular over busy seaside town. We arrived late and could not book into its accommodation, so as this was more urgent than the food, they sent us to the Galleon in the High Street missing en route the Dwelling House by mistake as an alternative B&B. Too busy with a Quiz/Bingo night at the Galleon to serve food we were then turned away by another pub for food, so returned to The Ship to see if they could still feed us late. Although several things were now off the menu, they summoned up something much nicer to replace our disappointment. From then on, they did everything they could to improve the welcome in Fowey. The soups and selection of wines were delicious and just what the doctor ordered on a cold night. We sat in the main bar area and talked to the other customers for hours and were only sad we had to walk back to our hotel - cos it would have been really good to sample breakfast.

“A wonderful welcome.”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

First time we arrived too late for lunch, but decided to stay for a chat & a couple of beers in front of the roaring open fire.
Next day we returned for lunch, lovely fresh homemade pub grub.
Cottage pie, bangers & mash, scampi & chips all served with a smile, piping hot. Fantastic, well be back!

My wife and myself ate here today and the only fault we found were the size of the portions,if your hungry this is the place to eat good food and plenty of it and a great welcome.

“Amazing food!”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

March 14th. we had one of the best 'pub' meals we've ever had this evening! We'd had a couple of coffees in here during the week we were in Cornwall, but decided to have our last night meal here as we enjoyed the atmosphere.

Not only was the food excellent, the service, hospiotality and general ambience of this historic pub was brilliant. There was a mixture of locals and visitors alike but all contributed to the 'good feeling' of the pub.

We were also able to take our dog inside and he was made as welcome as we were!

Please experience this pub....it has to be one of the best around!!!
