Friendly pub which has retained character. Serves good pub grub -hot fishermans pie the perfect comfort food on a grey damp day.

Ate twice here whilst in Fowey. It's a lovely old building, very interesting, and there is a good view to be had of the village if you can get the window seat upstairs. The food is very tasty, the portions generous and there is a good choice. The staff will happily make substitutions too if you prefer chips rather than potatoes etc! There was a good dessert menu too but we were too full to try it, maybe bnext time.

We had a delicious meal in this interesting pub today. The interior is very pleasant, with quirky stained glass windows and nautical styling. As a party of 7, we were served very quickly. The food was home cooked as described and beautifully presented, an unlike many pubs, the children's menu included real meals and not just fish fingers. My son had a great home made pizza! My fish pie melted in the mouth and tasted very fresh.
The only downside was the fact the kitchen had closed before we could order desserts! I'm unsure what time they are open for food so it may be worth checking if you intend to have more than one course.

I would highly recommend a visit to this lovely historic pub with it's friendly atmosphere. None of our party of 8 were disappointed, the menu was varied and the food was excellent, fresh, tasty and simply delicious. With friendly staff and fast service The Ship is well worth a visit.
