Excellent staff they even offered to do my ironing "thank you Louisa"
Good location with easy access to shopping and Newcastle. The restaurant attached to the hotel can get a bit frantic with lots of families early on . It has an eat as much as you can style buffet reasonable priced for those on a budget but it won't be to everyones taste. JUst a note the pin locator on the trip advisor map is in the wrong place it's across the road you can't miss it .

Stayed for a night to visit the Metro Centre. Was just as I would expect from Premier Inn standard - room clean, loads of hot water for bath etc. Couple of downsides - others had obviously been smoking in bedrooms and smell filtered into corridor and early morning delivery to pub next door woke us up earlier than hoped. Mentioned these in questionnaire when leaving and got a phone call on the Monday to say, as per Company policy, we would receive a full refund. This was back in our bank account almost immediately. Even though both of these issues were things not directly related to hotel it was good that they took this view. Thank you Premier Inn for your first class customer service.

I stayed here for three nights in order to see a couple of events. The staff at reception were excellent, always very friendly and eager to help. Had a problem with the lighting in the room (which was awful) so a table lamp was provided, but a proper light by the desk would have helped a lot (couldn't see to work or put makeup on!). The room itself, and also the entrance and corridors, were a bit shabby, although everywhere was very clean. The toilet was spotless (which matters!) but it needed a bit of an overhaul really - motels do need frequent redecorating and updating or they start to look very old and shabby pretty quick, and this was the main problem here - but as I said everywhere was very clean. The bed was wonderful - very firm and supportive, which was a worry for me as I have a bad back - but it was fabulous, had a great nights sleep. Also the only vending machine in the hotel was broken the whole time I was there, so no emergency snacks or anything without getting a taxi to somewhere, which was not great really. Would I go back.. maybe, but I think there are better hotels in the area, especially as it is not cheap considering. And although it was close to the Metro Centre, you still have to get a taxi there as it's on a dual carrigeway, which is unfortunate. But the staff were excellent and everywhere was very clean, so that was a plus - and not forgetting the great bed! Would have given it three stars, but it gets an extra point for the cleanliness and the friendly staff. Many thanks.

Excellent stay, location ideal, 3 minute walk from Metro Centre. On this occasion the heater was not working properly and it was cold all night. However, I have stayed here before and it's been faultless, as have all the other Premier Inn's I have stayed at in Newcastle. This is th most convenient though being near the A1 and walking distance from Metro Centre and Odeon.

Me and my colleague stayed here for a week while we worked away and will NEVER stay here again.

We had booked a twin room and where expecting to find two single beds in the room, however upon arrival we got a double bed and a sofa bed, we asked if we could be moved to a room with 2 single beds and where told their where no rooms in the hotel with 2 single beds. I found this rather odd considering the double bed was 2 single bases pushed together with a double matress on it.

After a long day of travelling and working we were looking forward to a "guaranteed good nights sleep", however what we recieved was far from it. Having no choice but to sleep on a sofa bed which was very uncomfortable we were woken all through the night by freight trains which run on a line right behind the hotel. This was after being evaccuated out of the hotel due to a faulty fire alarm goin off which left us stood on the car park in our pj's for 45 mins. Other guests had told us that it was the third time it had happened in their 3 week stay.

I am not exaggerating at all the noise was unbelieveable! similar to a small earthquake and theses trains run 24/7 i would say on average one part every half hour. when we weren't being disturbed bu passing trains we were intead being woken by the kitchen staff putting rubbish in the bins and the constant buzz from the fridges outside just below our room. on checking out we weren't asked at all how our stay had been which I would have expected.

I was suprised that this hotel hasnt had more bad reviews. I can assure you that this review is accurate reflection of my stay and would not advise anyone who actually wants to sleep to stay there. The sofa bed is tolerable for a short period( perhaps not for anyone older, i'm only 25 and my back was aching) but there is nothing which can be done about the proximity to the train line. My advice would be to stay in the holiday inn or travel lodge near the metro center as they are further away from the train lines and theres much moreplaces to go and eat near them.

Room Tip: stay a holiday inn or travelodge at the metro centre.... not here
