Excellent shopping centre...something for everyone and loads of choice for eating. All clearly mapped out and easy to find.

“Heaven for shopaholics like me!”

I LOVE the Metrocentre, when it comes to shopping centres, Metrocentre really can't be beat.
It has hundreds of shops and tons of different types of restaurants, it also has an IMAX cinema.
It has a huge variety of restaurants, ranging from fast food such as McDonalds and Burger King to pub food, sushi and Italian/Spanish/Mexican/Indian/Chinese food etc. There is even a new champagne bar if you fancy a tipple and a rest from all that shopping.
It has an even bigger variety of shops, from department stores, clothes stores, home stores, beauty stores, electrical store. Anything you could want you will find in the Metrocentre.
There is also a good choice of cafe's and coffee shops.
There is a new area outside of the Metrocentre called 'Metroasis' It includes a Harvester restaurant, Toby carvery and a drive through Starbucks and Krispy Kreme.
There is a bowling alley and amusement arcade for younger people (or just young at heart!)
Parking is plentiful and free.
We usually park in the coach park where it's easy to get in and out of and there are always spaces. There is even a free mini bus which will drive you from the entrance to your car (we never take advantage of this but it is handy for elderly people)
The Metrocentre is always clean (although the Metrocentre public toilets could be clean)
Overall you can spend a very enjoyable day here shopping, dining, visiting the cinema etc.

“Exactly what you'd expect from a supersize Mall in the UK”
Reviewed December 26, 2012

If you want Free Parking, a wide yet eclectic collection of restaurants, a MASSIVE IMAX cinema and more shops than you could shake a stick at. I will say the whole metrocentre could do with a massive clean and yes fair enough, the recession has closed a few shops, even big chains.
There's now more Disabled parking than ever, even parking for electric cars to charge up now-a-days.

I just don't get why you'd shop in Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland or Durham when you'll pay for parking and not have the range of shops that the Metrocentre has.

Oh yeah, and it's got a roof over it's head too.
