“Disgusting”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2014 via mobile

Just been for tea tonight. £25 for 2 adults and 1 child, which the nicest way I can describe it is rubbish! Got drinks, the machine needs a good clean as it smelt like wee! That's before we even ate. I was hard pushed to find anything that looked appetising! Over cooked rubbish. Salad stuff looked wilted. Wouldn't even entertain the carvery. Toilets stank! Overall total disappointment! Only reason I have given an extra star is the puddings redeemed the place slightly. I have felt sick ever since. Wish I had gone to mcds, would have been cheaper and a hell of a lot nicer!

nice place but sadly food was only ok, kids thought it was ok but for adults food not the best.
I have heard that some people think it is quite well priced but quality not for us.

“Can't get better value for money!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2014

We stay at the premier inn that is attached to Taybarns often, although there are other places to eat close by, we always go here!!
It's something like £6.95 per person for your food and about £3.00 for your drink.
That's expensive for a glass of coke you may think, but you can go top your drink up as often as you want. There are drink machines dotted around the restaurant so you can g get more when you want to. You have a choice of Pepsi, diet Pepsi, lemonade and fanta (I think, I don't like fizzy orange so I don't take much notice of it!)
The food is great! You have a choice of soup and salad then they have a grill area with bits of meat, sausages bacon chop, beef burgers, chicken etc. there is a chippy area, Sunday cavery area, an area that has fajitas, sweet and sour chicken, chilli, curry etc and a pizza bit where they make their own pizzas right in front of you! The man that makes the pizzas is great! If there is a type of pizza you would like he will make you one and if there are a group of you on your table bring it over for you all. then there is a desert area that also has a ice cream machine!
We love it here the staff are so efficient and friendly. For the price how anyone can complain is beyond me! The food is tasty, you can try a little bit of everything, if you like it then you can go back and help your self to more, if you don't, just leave it and try something else!!

“Great Value for money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2014

We stumbled across this place when we were looking for somewhere to eat. We thought it was brewers fayre at first and because we have a loyalty card we decided to eat here. (It is next door to the premier inn.)
At first we hadn't a clue what to do until we asked one of the staff. We were surprised to find out we were able to chose anything at all. Was chuffed l hadn't to spend a fortune, it was great value for your money. Best thing is if you didn't like something you were not forced to eat it if you didn't like it, you just got up and chose something else. We really enjoyed it here and only hope that they expand to Scotland in the near future. Newcastles a long way to come for a meal lol, but we will be back......Loved the carvery. mmmm.

“We've put a 'self ban' on this place”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2014

Having heard so many 'rave' reviews about this buffet restaurant that caters for all kinds of cuisine, we thought we'd brave it. It looks tacky as hell from outside, but beauty is only skin deep right?

Wrong.

It's probably worse than most buffet restaurants in that it tries to cater for all, so essentially it is just low standard food pretending to be from many different places... but really was all cooked and frozen from the same kitchen, then shipped to be reheated. :/ Food sits for ages congealing... you know not what not to pick as it's the most congealed, so must be bad, cos even the regulars aren't picking it! Having said that the 'choice' of food we still found poor, it's like a buffet at a takeaway! If you want to consume 2000 calories per meal, this is ideal. Hmmm. The drinks are also typically 'chain' pub choice and terrible quality, best to not have draft drinks, bottles are the only safe option.

Tables are icky and sticky, other clientele are shouty and tracksuity, and well.... yeah, I feel bad as I did want this place to be an amazing 'answer to all cuisines' place ... but it failed massively. I can sort of understand why people with kids 'might' take them here, seeing as they all run about screaming while you try to eat, but there are so many better places nearby, that are still stupidly cheap, and have more productive things for your kids to do, and healthier food for your kids to eat.... if cheap is what you seek of course.

If you don't have kids... or you do, but you like nice food, this really isn't the place for you.
