Lovely hotel, well worth the price with the added bonus of a pool! ( which was very well maintained ) whenever we are back in Grange we will be back!

The wifi not working in the rooms was a tiny downside but other than that it was excellent

We booked a 2 night stay at this hotel in a superior double room. We made the booking through late rooms.com . We then received a call from the hotel to say they only had a superior twin room left so we decided that we would still go and accept ed.
When we arrived we were given a room in the old part and we were extremely disappointed . We were met with about a dozen different types of cables hanging directly in front of the door . When we entered it was extremely disappointing . It was a disabled room and yo say the least very outdated, the wet room was not very clean . The shower head was full of black gunge , half empty bottles of shower gel without lids on , hair covered soap and a toilet that our feet coukdnt touch the floor when sat on it and a sink with just one hot tap and so low that my husband almost had to kneel at to use.
At 8am each morning the gardener would arrive on his tractor mower and park it directly in front of our window and leave the engine running! So a short break to rest and relax was what we hoped for was not to be!
When I complained I was told it was a superior room I stated that it was NOT a superior room and then I was seen by the manager who apologised and said that we should not have been put in that room but they couldn't move us as they didn't have another room . I stated that if a booking is made for a superior room that is what is expected . We booked a double and was contacted to say they only had the twin superior available . As they called us about the room they could have told us they didn't have a superior room but instead left us to arrive and put is in a disabled room which to be truthful if I were disabled I would have expected better!
Very very disappointed indeed. The location is excellent though. In my opinion there is a lot to be done at this hotel with regard to cleanliness and bringing up to standards . There is a lot of general improvements that need to be made to warrant the charges they have set. We didn't eat here at all so cannot comment .

Accompanied by a whole host of fellow guests during an organised weekend at Abbott Hall I can only commend the venue for its food, friendly staff, gardens, facilities and overall atmosphere.

The hotel is old world with modern rooms, fantastic food, glorious greenery with views overlooking Morecambe Bay, superb indoor 15 metre pool with separate children's shallow pool, ample parking and accommodation options including self catering lodges.

Geared for quieter breaks with no real bar so to speak of but fabulous comfortable lounges to chill in as well as organised evening entertainment including barn dancing which we partook in on Saturday night the hotel is perfect for a family break in the south lakes.

Children's play area is new and very safe.

Amazed for all the wrong reasons. Stayed one night. Room was on the small side with no TV as this is part of the hotel owner's communal ethos. We chose to eat out in the town as we were not aware at time of booking that the Hotel positively encourages communal dining together with other guests. Whilst offered a separate table "if we really wanted one" we were left feeling that we were putting the staff out. Dinner was also served at a very limited time slot - one sitting for all. This became even more apparent in the morning with breakfast when tables were "reserved" simply to ensure folk were steered to share with others on the non-reserved tables. We have no problems joining others for a meal but normally its nice to choose who you eat with and not be encouraged to do so for religious reasons. The online booking site did not explain that this hotel was owned and run by a religious organisation. The only upside was the swimming pool which was a super facility and as all the guests were dining at the same time we had it all to ourselves.

We booked this room at a low rate and when we arrived the area seemed quite nice and the house itself looked great. The receptionist was efficient and we dealt with the payment quickly. We were directed to the bungalows which, from just one look, could tell was in need of some TLC. We entered the bungalows and were unimpressed with the upholstery as it was very outdated. Our room was not any better. It was very hot (despite the windows being open), had very basic facilities, the carpet did not seem clean and we shared a bathroom with other guests. The toilets themselves were fairly clean but my partner and I both decided to forgo using the bathroom/shower. You could hear all the pipe work in our room when someone had visited the toilet or if we used the basin in our room. You get what you pay for, but it is definitely in need of some modernisation.

Room Tip: The log cabins and the hall itself looks good, but would not advise the bungalow.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for one night as a Base when exploring the lake district on our way up from London, on arrival in the car park it looked lovely, walked down to reception, to find we had went back to the 1900s, receptionist was nice enough tho, was given our room key and pointed in the direction of the "bungalow" thinking it sounded nice, looked not bad from the outside, it actually might be quite good here, or so we thought. Opened the room door to find a room the size of the average council house toilet, which clearly some of the staff stayed in aswell, dirty works boots lying outside at front door. It was obviously the slaves/maids quarters. A shared bath and toilet between 6 rooms, and it was terrible, in need of a proper scrub, paint, and modernisation, as we're the rooms.

I can't complain to much as I only paid £30 for the room, the bed was comfy and the pool was awesome.

But I now get to the part of why I'm even bothering to write a review, breakfast! What a shambles, shared tables! The woman even expected me to sit at one table and my girlfriend another between people we hadn't met in our life's. The reason?? Because she would have to make up another table! Absolute joke! 8.85 for a breakfast that probably cost 1.25 to make. All in all I will not be back, unless they get new staff, and make the place look like its a hotel and not a prison.
