We were staying in Grange over Sands for 2 nights and had almost given up looking for somewhere to get a decent evening meal............when we happened upon this place. To start with we were a little surprised as it was very empty and not much sign of life, but it was still early. What a great find though!! Good reasonably priced cocktails, proper homemade soup, fresh fish with a light batter and a scrumptious dessert. The staff were helpful and happy to advise.
As we were leaving, locals were starting to arrive which was pleasing to see. Would be happy to recommend.

We called in here on the off-chance of a light bite bar meal. It's a lovely little bar/bistro area, with outside tables for warm weather. There wasn't much in the way of "light bites" on the menu so we ordered a pizza each. A lovely pizza I have to say but not cheap at more than £10 each. There were people eating more substantial meals and they did look delicious - maybe next time we will feel more hungry and be tempted!

went here last night after recommendation by Birchleigh guest house, had two absolutely fabulous steaks cooked to perfection as it was steak night. Came with a large platter of chips, tomatoes, onion rings, flat mushrooms and a jug of pepper sauce couldn't fault a thing, we then indulged in the desserts, never seen such well presented desserts tiramisu and cheesecake they were both homemade as Andrea the owner is a pastry chef fabulous! to cap it all we found out she was from Barnard Castle like us, so had a nice chat, its a small world, hope to return again

Towards the basement of the Lymehurst is a place of discovery the restaurant.
We had a lovely meal during our stay that tintilated the taste buds delicious chicken liver starter with a piquant dressing that delighted the taste buds. Clean finish well presented food with lots of flavour. Scrummy!!!!

Food was good, very good actually, fabulously well cooked scallops with a spicy bite and superb lamb. However they are top end price so need to step it up to match. Paper, napkins cutlery dumped on the table as if it was a £5 fixed price pub? No they need to up the ambiance and get some new tables.

They had trouble with their credit card machine the night we were there but neglected to tell us until we had sat down to eat. We had a drink in the bar before hand and only booked by telephone at about 18.00 so they had ample opportunity to tell us.

The outcome was a little embarrassment on both sides and we scrabbled together enough cash but had to stop at a cash point to pay the taxi.

It cost them a desert and a tip.

£80 for two needs more than just good food it needs a professional approach as well.

Lamb was fabulous though!
