Took my mother for a week day lunch. Pub is accessible by wheelchair. Nicely furnished with good balance of old traditional features and modern touches. Clean and well maintained throughout. Young lady serving could not have been more helpful to get my mother seated and to take orders for drinks at the table. A good choice of the usual menu items plus more varied and interesting offers. Ordered two starters for me and a main for mother: whitebait, and cod fishcake with chorizo, main was grilled trout. Whitebait was fresh and dusted with flour and lightly fried, fishcake moist, tasty but perhaps lacking a taste of the chorizo. The trout was perfectly cooked and came with new potatoes and salad. Indications of a good kitchen. Portions ample and well priced. Good choice of beers, wines. Service was exemplary and friendly but not in a mechanical way. Will certainly return. Bill was £25 including a voluntary tip.
