A great place to stop. Lots of little extra touches made the cottage more of a home from home. Absolutely spotless inside with a lovelt rear small garden. Good location for exploring and the local town is beautiful and although small has plenty to offer.
Had a lovely weekend with my family at Heatherlea. Comfortable , warm and cosy especially when it started snowing. Would definitely stay again and happy to recommend to my friends.
Location ideal for the Lake district so many places to explore . The house so warm cosy and well equipped really felt at home there . We stayed for three weeks enjoyed every day from touring in the car or just walking along the front at Grange . Very enjoyable holiday Highly recommended .
Heatherlea is a lovely cottage. Great rooms, really comfortable, and a real home from home. It really helped the family relax. And to top it all, the view from the master bedroom over Morecambe Bay was stunning. The cottage is in Grange over Sands which is a really pleasant village/town. A few well stocked shops, restaurants and pubs etc. The ornate gardens and lake near the Railway are beautiful. Grange is also a great base for exploring the Lakes and visiting Barrow. To drive the full route around Windermere is just exquisite. Taking a trip to Kendal, Coniston or Keswick is easy and inspiring. Such scenery. The Lakes themselves are delectably tranquil and allow you to embrace the gentle dynamic between plants and wildlife seemingly ambivalent to locals and visitors alike. Christmas was a treat for our entire family. Thanks to Heatherlea and Lynda the very accommodating owner
This was our fourth family New Year at Heatherlea -4 adults two children and two Cockers! The house is warm and welcoming and very well equipped. Yesterday we cooked a second Xmas dinner which would be a huge challenge in many holiday houses but Heatherlea has plenty of equipment. We had such a lovely time we were all sad to go home!
On Saturday we went for a meal at the Pheasant Inn at Allithwaite which was excellent and we would highly recommend. We also visited Cartmel and Arnside both of which we thoroughly enjoyed.
We have already booked next New Year at Heatherlea and also hope to book a summer weekend too. A real home from home.
This was our 4th trip to this lovely cottage with family and as usual we had a great break. The cottage is like a home from home and fully equipped. We cooked a full roast turkey dinner and were not short of anything! We had some lovely days out to Cartmel and Arnside and the cottage is in a great location. The walk back up the hill was a great way to burn off the roast dinner. The children love the games and DVD’s and we really enjoyed watching some old classics. Great time, thanks Lynda and we look forward to next NYE.
