A beautifully presented home from home with everything you could possibly need and more . The "upside-down" layout allows you to enjoy the fantastic views over the bay and I'm sure in less breezy weather the huge patio would be a treat (we only lasted out there a few minutes before the lure of the wood burner dragged us back inside) . The road up to the cottage is a little on the steep side , but you get used to it very quickly and the walk up to the Hospice is well worth it for the fabulous views .
Thank you for a great week , all the best to you both
Stunning place full of character inside and out. Large graden and odourless clean rooms.
From the mystic Gas Fire to the jumbo bar-b-q this property is a good escape or your perfect party.
Winderemere lake only 20 min drive.
Thanks Ray, Dawn And Friends
Cosy, very comfortable, perfect for one or two couples. Loved the views over the Bay
and the ease of driving to various special places in the Lake District.
Very clean with everything a family could need
Good little grocery shops within walking distance.
In all our decades of travel, the Coach House was absolutely the best of any kind of accommodation we have ever stayed in. Gorgeously appointed and furnished, designed with artistry and attention to the smallest detail of what you might need in a home away from home. The homemade shortbread, tea, coffee, condiments, FRESH MILK, and drugstore items stored away- just in case! Dawn and Ray are incredible hosts and have included a wealth of brochures and books to help one not only navigate a stay in the district but to understand the area's rich history. And for us, being city folks, Ray and Dawn came over the night of the full moon and lit a fire (the views of the moon reflected in Morecambe Bay- extraordinary).I loved sitting in the conservatory each morning planning our day's agenda whilst having tea. As recommended we ambled across the garden and had two wonderful meals at the Hampsfell House Hotel. Our only regret is that the property has been sold and we will not be able to return before it changes hands. But we will always treasure our time at the Coach House and Grange Over Sands.
The Coach House was a delight only to be matched by its owners, Ray and Dawn. Everything was perfect with top notch furnishings, care and attention to every detail, and such a home-from-home feeling. This is the nicest rental we have encountered in many years visiting all over the U.K. from our home on Colorado, USA. We regret that there will be no more opportunities to return there.
A very last minute decision to have a break did mean that we had limited choices but really glad that we chose The Coach House. This beautiful house was well maintained and offered ample space for the five of us with stunning views of the sandy bay from the massive terrace. The whole property was immaculately clean. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and it is a shame that we didn't get a chance to use the BBQ or light up a fire in the quaint fireplace. The location is ideal to explore the Lake District if you want to be far from the madding crowds of the tourist hotspots. The train station and the town centre is just a few minutes of walking although on your way back be prepared for a bit of a steep climb. The owners Raymond and Gill live just across and were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel next door is very good to nip in for some lovely breakfast or late tea. We also loved the food from the local Chinese Takeaway. Unfortunately this lovely gem of a self-catering is on the market and most likely will not be available for much longer - otherwise we would have loved to visit again.
A beautiful well kept property with stunning views, immaculate garden and comfy beds. It was very well equipped, homley and cosy on chilly nights. Extremely family friendly.
