Description: The Tollemache Arms is situated 4 miles off the A1 in the beautiful village of Buckminster, between Colsterworth and Melton Mowbray on the B676.The bar is open to everyone, their muddy feet and their dogs! Tasty bar nibbles such as home roasted mixed nuts, olives, pickled eggs and much more are prepared by the Chef and a selection of draught beers and local ales are changed regularly - all to be enjoyed in front of a cosy fire during the cold winter months! The dining room offers intimacy and the menu offers pub classics or sandwiches at lunchtime as well as bar snacks and other dishes to push your palate. The library is ideal for coffee mornings, meetings and an area for the children, with toys available. It is also popular during the evenings for pre-dinner/party drinks and after dinner coffees. We have a large garden with plenty of space for eating outside and can cater for private parties, weddings, christenings or any other events, either within the pub or in a marquee outside in the garden. The Tollemache Arms offers a relaxed, cosy atmosphere with friendly chat and we look forward to welcoming you on your visit.

This place works on some many levels. The village is quiet and picturesque but not far from A1 and Stamford, Oakham and Grantham. There is plenty of parking, and in the summer a decent garden. The pub caterers for the locals and has loads of room for those who want to prop up the bar. Soft seating near the fire creates a cosy atmosphere and diners can choose to eat in the bar or dining area. Four of us sat down to dinner on Friday and had a thoroughly enjoyable meal at a sensible price. One of the Chefs made a lovely birthday cake treat for my wife which was delicious. The downside to this place is that the large rooms can make the pub feel a bit empty however on the last few occasions this has not been a problem as it has been bustling.

“Some of the best food I've ever had!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2013

I love this place, it is a beautiful well looked after building and the staff are excellent. I have been several times for just a drink and had the nibbles, I usually get the olives and nuts. You get a really big portion of each and I think they are home marinated and roasted. The a la carte menu changes each day with some things as standard such as fish and chips and steak but it is always a great variety and very interesting. I have had the pleasure of eating here once and the food is out of this world, cooked to perfection and well presented. On our table we had a homemade burger and chips, lasagne and garlic bread and a smoked haddock and brie fishcake with a poached egg and tomato salsa. All the food was incredible and you can tell its homemade, even the mayo is! I looked at other dishes being brought out and they all looked incredible. I can't recommend this place enough.

“Great atmosphere and food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012

A cosy pub that was so pleasant to relax in that we did not mind the fact that the young waitresses were overstretched and not as attentive as they could have been. This did not detract from a lovely dining experience with delicious food. We will definitely return.

“Great food in a great place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012

Third visit now and again can't fault the place. For such an imposing building the management team have definitely made this feel a cosy and welcoming pub. Yet there’s plenty of space so not to feel crammed in like some pubs in the area. The food is as good as the Red Lion, The Wheel and other places of similar ilk and great beer to boot! Can't recommend the place highly enough!
