“Disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2013

On a recent Rabbies tour we stayed at this B&B and were very disappointed. as it did not meet with our expectations. We have had excellent previous experience of similar hostelries in Scotland. Sadly this fell far short. Bedrooms could do with redecoration as there were holes in the wall left by screws. Towel rail fell off in the bathroom and the toilet seat had been repaired with a different coloured fitting. towels were very tired.
The sitting room was overcrowded with huge teddy bears leaving little seating for residents. Public rooms were extremely cold, my friend had to wear her outdoor coat to breakfast as the room was freezing.

We are always disappointed to receive unhappy reviews from our guests. However we would encourage guests to raise any complaints at the time of their stay to give us a chance to put things right. Although we understand the 2 poor reviews recently were travelling together we are sorry for any discomfort they experienced. We tried to help with their special requirements including providing ground floor rooms and extra heating for the rooms. We do feel we have a high level of satisfaction for most of our guests who consider us value for money but take on board any criticism brought to our attention.

We stayed one night with Angela and David, and were most pleased. The room was immaculate and the owners could not have been nicer. Breakfast was excellent, as we overlooked the quintessential English garden that is their front yard. David was helpful in driving us (in his Bentley!) to Tomintoul on short notice. Highly recommend.

As B&B guest houses go, this is one of the better. The collections of various things all over the house may not have been to our taste, but it cannot be argued that they contributed to the atmosphere of the house and were certainly talking points.
Room was fine and had everything that we might have wanted even if it wasn't "spacious". Nice touched with the biscuit tins with the tea and coffee and the toiletries supplied. Thanks for those.
Angela was helpful and considerate and personified what a good Guest House host should be.
Breakfast was excellent - the porridge was first class.
Would we stay there again? Yes!

Stayed for three days during May when our prayers were answered with regard to great weather and great accomodation. Scotland is a place that when you have both of these you could stay forever, no need to travel abroad. David and Angela were so nice, not over powering but always there to offer help and suggestions where to visit and where to eat in the evening. And the breakfasts were hearty and set you up for the day. The rooms were spacious with nice ensuite facilities and with the house being of stone build, meant that the rooms were well sound proofed situated in a quite road off the main High St so getting a good nights rest was not a problem, especially if you sampled the Scots favourite drink of which there are so many to choose from in that area. Would defintiely go again. Thank you Angela and David

Room Tip: Go for the four poster if available

We were on the Rabbies tour and stayed here 2 nice. My husband and I have never stayed at a B&B and after this vist we will be staying at B&B from now on. This a great little place with lovely staff! Great breakfast in the morning and the surrounding town is quiet at night. Only a block away from the restaurants. I HIGHLY reccommend this place to anyone staying in the area. Also, close distances from all the distillerys!!!

I have been coming to Grantown-on-Spey now for many years and i have to say i just love the place, now i have been coming to Garden Park now since 1997 and quite simply it is my first and only choice...I love the "homely cosy feel" of the Guest House and look forward to staying here...The rooms are beautifully furnished with beds that are superior to what i have in my house.
David and Angela go out of their way to oblige and i cannot praise them enough
The breakfasts are quite simply out of this world, sometimes you find a place you like, some places you love......and i just love Grantown-on-Spey and Garden Park.

Room Tip: You will not go wrong here
