We stayed a night here while walking the Speyside Way. Fay was fantastic, looking after our every need, even providing blister plasters for my daughters sore feet! The breakfast was wonderful, the room was ideal, clean and comfortable. A great stopover for Speyside Way walkers.

We only stayed for one night, the bedroom we had on arrival was on the third floor, very small and the ensuite was in a cupboard under the eaves. We were very disappointed. When we explained we would not be taking our suitcases out of the car because we could not carry them up 3 floors, we were offered a larger room on the first floor. This was much better, good size room, easy chairs to sit on and a full size bathroom. Bed okay but pillows were hard.

On the good side it is very good location, next to a park and walk to river, breakfast was very good. If you book be sure not to get a bedroom on the third floor unless you are very fit and small to fit into the ensuite..

Not only is this house beautiful to look at, it's located next to a lovely park. Again we chose a B&B with stairs that were killer. Next trip...less luggage! The hostess was a lovely woman, full of mirth and could cook a great breakfast. When in Grantown-on-Spey you MUST go to the Craggan Mill for supper, foodies and non will absolutely love it. Best meal in all of Scotland!!!!!!

Room Tip: Ask to see your room first, ours was a bit wee.

Me and my pal spent one week in the Parkburn Guest House in June 2011. Clean rooms, great breakfast and two likeable and good-natured persons as hosts. There are no more wishes for a B&B.
If I am in the same region of scotland again, I am at the Parkburn again.
Best wishes to Fay and Allan, thank you for your hospitality.

My fishing pal and I spent 3 nights at Parkburn in April 2010 as we were fishing the Spey at Grantown. The welcome at Parkburn is second to none and Fay and Allan go out of their way to help and went to great lengths to ensure we were happy. Allan offered the loan of multiple items of his own fishing tackle and I took him up on the offer of a Rapala plug which, sadly did not tempt a fish but was, happily, returned to him intact after 2 days hard fishing! At £30 an night for B & B the rates are perfect and I would urge any prospective guests to ignore the unfair (and miserly) review at the top of the page and go to Parkburn. Faye's breakfasts are wonderful and well worth the sleepless nights I had due to my mate's horrendous snoring! We will be back in 2011!

THE ''£20 ROOM'' THAT TURNED INTO A £60 NIGHTMARE

A sign on the street outside the Parkburn Guest House (see attached) advertises ''Room only £20''...but beware, when the morning comes it turns into a £60 bill!..yes £20 did seem cheap to us but after a sleepless night on a bed that long since collapsed in the middle, a toilet that was actually a cupboard you couldn't stand up in, and a room that hadn't seen a coat of paint in many a long year, £20 seemed just about right...therefore to be charged £60.00, (that's £20 each + £10 each for breakfast), it was a disgrace..we had stayed the previous night at the Annslea in Pitlochry at £60 per night...this was a beautiful place, we had a fantastic stay and it illustrated what you should be able to expect for a £60 tariff...I'd suggest the owners of the Parkburn pay the Annslea a visit as sadly the Parkburn was light years below that standard...so my sincere advice would be to avoid this establishment at all costs, it could ruin your holiday as it did ours!

Unfortunately Mr Hynlandman turned out to be Mr Highwayman as the police had to pursue him for payment after leaving Parkburn Guest House without paying for his stay in full!!! This guest was shown the room prior to his stay and after finding it satisfactory he registered for B&B. The sign at the roadside was for room only but Mr ‘Highwayman’ thought he could pull a fast one and leave after creating a stramash . He was copped!!!
His partner Angel must have been very pleased with her stay as she wrote’ very accommodating’ in our Visitors’ Book!! ....how about that!
I think other viewers will have to be careful of this person’s acid opinions.
As you can see from other reviews our guests are more than satisfied with the personal service we give and the cleanliness of Parkburn. Many visitors come back…again and again and again!!!

I've just spent two days in the Scottish Highlands and am happy to recommend The Parkburn Guest House in Grantown-on-Spey to others. There's a great welcome from landlady Fay Hampton - ably supported by husband Allan - and I enjoyed the friendly, homely atmosphere. I was travelling on my own and paid £36.00 per night for the en suite room which was clean and well equipped. I liked the bowl of sweets on the dressing-table! Fay is a well-organised hostess who runs a comfortable and efficiently managed business. She provided a first rate breakfast - as always, a vital element for accommodation success - and I will know where to head for if I return to Grantown!
