“Absolutely amazing Goan Lamb Shank”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

I visited Sylhet with my daughter opn a recent trip to Scotland.

As we live in Manchester and regular visitors to the many many Indian restaurants we were expecting an average meal at the Sylhet being the only Indian restaurant in the area.

Our experience was the opposite - the food was excellent, I particularly loved the Goan Lamb Shank.

And the staff couldn't be more helpful.

Thank you.

“Delicious!”
Reviewed June 14, 2014

We were staying in Grantown on Spey for a few days and chose the Sylhet Brasserie for an evening meal after reading reviews on TA.
We arrived about 7pm on a Wednesday evening - the restaurant wasn't very busy and we got a table easily. We were greeted and our orders taken promptly by friendly staff.
We were so busy chatting amongst ourselves that we weren't really aware of time passing and then when the waiter came and apologised for the delay and offered us a complimentary drink for our prolonged wait we realised we had been waiting a fair while...maybe about 50 minutes! (approx)..... it appears the gas ran out in the kitchen!
When our food eventually arrived we were not disappointed... it was hot, fresh, very tasty and very plentiful! All members of our party were more than satisfied with the food and everyone was absolutely stuffed full to the brim! (we ate South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken, Chicken Tikka Massala and Korai Akbori Special amongst other things!)
The prices were reasonable and we enjoyed the food so much we actually came the very next evening for the same meal in takeaway form!.... it was as delicious and plentiful as the night before!

“Great food but disappointing service”
Reviewed April 3, 2014

My husband and I went here for dinner and really enjoyed our food.
We eat out a lot and were disappointed with the arrogant and condescending attitude the waiters had.
The food however was very tasty and hats off to the kitchen staff.
We won't be returning unless it's for take away!

““Superb Food, Superb Welcome.””
Reviewed March 6, 2014

We have been customers of The Sylhet Brasserie for many years and the food is probably the best Indian cuisine around! Staff are simply amazing with always a warm welcome and smiley faces. The whole atmosphere is relaxed and you feel part of the Family. The quality of the food is of a high standard and the menu has a wide varied choice of dishes.
The premises are spotlessly clean and the decor modern and fresh.
On the whole we would totally recommend this resturant to anyone. It is a Jewel of a place!

Reviewed March 6, 2014 via mobile

A super restaurant, tasteful decor, welcoming staff, great customer service and a fabulous menu. Dishes are well presented, excellent portion sizes, very flavoursome and a range to suit every palate. It's a licensed establishment with a good choice of beers, wines and soft drinks all reasonably priced. Great for intimate occasions and perfect for get-togethers. Highly recommended!
