“Average carvery but don't expect a quiet meal”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2012

Visited this carvery on two occasions, apart from Sunday the cost is £6.49 which is good value but on Sunday it goes up to £8.99 and at that price there are better places to go for Sunday dinner. This is more of a family restaurant than some so do not go here if you want a quiet meal as there will be lots of children about, did not bother us as it was a lively atmosphere that we enjoyed but might not appeal to others. The carvery has a choice of 3-4 meats normally and a good selection of vegetables but if you like your meat they can be a bit mean with the servings, depends on the person doing the carving! My recommendation is that if you have a family this is a good place to go any day apart from Sunday.

“Really nice pub restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

They do a great carvery here 7 days a week which is good value for money at the weekend and even cheaper throughout the week. Also available a comprehensive additional menu and children's menu. Very pleasant surroundings within a large manor house type building. Attached is an indoor play area for the children containing ball pit and 2 storey adventure climbing fun. There is also an outside play area with climbing and slides. Overall a really good family place to meet eat & drink. This place is very popular.

“late Thursday evening in September”

Didn't really know what to expect as we hadn't been here before, but we enjoyed good service, decent food and drink.
We would go back again.

“Smile-it won't kill you”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2012

Firstly the food was OK, average carvery and as we went in at 6pm we seemed to get everything fresh.
But the service is very miserable with no smiles, eye contact or even a thank you!
We didn't stay for a drink after as the bar area was like a war zone of un cleared tables and the Manageress? (50's spiky hair) was too busy to clear a table because she was having a domestic with the bar staff!
Shocking!
Two stars for food, Nil for rest.
