Feel so strongly to come home and write ths review straight away. Thought we would go out for a bite to eat as not done much today and chose the brewers fayre for a change. Arrived at 5.30pm and was able to get a table as long as we were left by 7.00pm. Greeting staff and waitress fine and food was good. We came to pay and the barman who was on shift Saturday 21 September at 6.45pm was extremely rude. My husband had waited to the right of the bar not knowing that we needed to queue in the same queue that you order your food. The barman sarcastically told us he was doing us a favour and spoke to us like we were dirt. I told him we were customers and he should not speak to us like that. He said that others were customers too and ignored us. I asked to speak with the manager and was ignored 3 times before he said she is over there and busy. I approached the manager and explained. She was very helpful and kind but the damage is done. This man needs to learn manners and the impact of his actions on the reputation of the business. We shall not be eating here again and I would strongly recommend that the barman urgently attends some customer service training.

We have stayed at several Premier Inns and have used the attached restaurants all of which have been satisfactory, but Brewers Fayre at Runham was abysmal. We had a meal deal for 4 nights. The restaurant was very grubby and the bar area uninviting, we had to ask a staff member to clean the table on 3 nights as it was covered in sticky goo. Over the 4 nights we had a sirloin which was 1/2 gristle served with cold chiips and inedible bullet like peas, a chicken and bacon ceaser salad that had little chicken and bacon served on bed of lettuce, a whole lettuce! The apple pie was micro waved to render it a soggy pastry gooey mess and the choc block sundae had 3 large and i mean large chunks of brownie ( should have been caramel bites) on top of a caramel sauce with a slab of ice cream dumped on top, impossible to eat without it overflowing over the glass. To avoid the cold hard chips i went for the crushed potato, yes they were also cold and hard. Also the service was poor , a could not careless attitude. We will not use this retaurant again, We had no problems with the hotel room at this location.
