Just returned from a National coach holiday to the above hotel, the hotel itself was very good our room (207) was spacious with a huge bathroom with bath and shower. The room was very clean and well maintained by the cleaners. The meals were good sized portions with a good variety of choice, the dining room staff were very polite and friendly and it was very well organised. The excursions were very good and we had an excellent driver(Colin) who was excellent. All in all a brilliant holiday. Thanks to the Waverley hotel and National coach holidays for a great time would certainly recommend this holiday.

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay on a 'Just Go' trip, staying at the pleasant Waverley Hotel. The hotel was efficiently run by a friendly, polite staff. It was extremely clean.

We weren't so sure about having to sit in the same place every day for meals and having to order evening meals at breakfast (full breakfast very good!) but appreciate that a hotel has to ensure meal preparation is cost effective, and the meals were perfectly satisfactory, well cooked and tasty, if not adventurous. Having a member of staff to do the toasting at the machine was very helpful!

As chance would have it, we were allocated a hotel room smaller than many others (217), for example, the bed was against the wall on one side and there was no bedside table but there were good in-room tea/coffee-making facilities . Our view was of the back of the hotel and buildings, not that that bothered us at all. We kept most of our gear in the cases though there was a fairly good wardrobe. In retrospect, we should have mentioned this to management early on but after a journey of well over twelve hours and a shyness, one does not feel inclined to grumble. However, early on in our stay, we were still gripped in the summer heatwave and were stifled during the night. The forecast was that it would soon be fresher but we were eventually granted an efficient fan and this was promptly delivered. That is not usually necessary in Britain, of course but we were very grateful for that. Our shower worked pretty well. One thing: Great Yarmouth should put a gag on really vociferous gulls in the early morning. Otherwise, the hotel was pleasantly quiet.

The location of the hotel was excellent, right opposite the Pier in Great Yarmouth (Many big comedians appear here). The huge beach was right there if you wanted a swim, and we did. We also enjoyed the Pub on the Prom at the end of the street but it is true to say that the hotel drinks prices were quite reasonable. However, we were not too keen to stay in for the two nights of in-house entertainment by one nigh,t a male, and on another, a female vocalist, but they were well received by others, I believe.

A Spoons pub lies at the top of the adjacent Regent Street. For the three full days in Norfolk, we were able to enjoy excursions to the beautiful city of Norfolk, take a ride on the nearby Norfolk Broads aboard the 'Southern Comfort' paddle steamer, and visit Sheringham and Cromer in the rain but who cares? Great Yarmouth itself has a great deal to offer. We had a great time in a lovely county with many past family links but which I had never visited before. Thanks to the management of the Waverley Hotel.

Room Tip: Bring ear plugs to shut out the noisy gulls early in the morning. Room 217 is more suitable as a single room, even if clean and tidy.

We were greeted throughout by very efficient and pleasant staff and our room although basic was constantly kept very clean .We had difficulties with the shower as it didn't have instructions for getting the water level settled and that could have resulted in getting scolded so I would suggest that could be remedied. The food was good and served hot on hot plates .Breakfast was plentiful and very good.I would stay here again...

Room Tip: Rooms on the front

We stayed at this hotel for just the 1 night, wish we stayed longer, we all loved it, room was very clean, staff were extremely friendly, the breakfast was delicious, we couldn’t fault anything, Shame there is no designated parking but was lucky to get a space not too far away, would definitely recommend & will definitely be returning, thank you!
