Thank you Nicolle xx P for your review.
I am so happy to read that from start to finish you had a great holiday with us.
Our grounds team work extremely hard day in day out to keep the park spotless and clean.
It seems as though you got to make the use of the facilities from enjoying the evening entertainment to the beautiful
beach which can be accessed directly from the park along the cliff top.
Again thank you for your brilliant review and we hope to welcome you back soon.
A lovely holiday park. This was our third visit and as always we were greeted by the very friendly and helpful reception staff who shortly afterwards phoned to make sure everything was okay. We were staying in a 3 bedroom Deluxe caravan which was well equipped, clean and comfortable, and a short walk to the lovely beach. The new Marina Lounge was lovely although a little noisy early in the evening during the childrens entertainment which seemed to be fun for the youngsters. The indoor pool was lovely and the on site shop was good. On our return my husband realised that he had lost his watch but when I phoned a couple of days later the reception staff said that it had been found in the caravan and are returning it to us. On our previous visits we still had our dog and there are plenty of dog bins about, also the Garden cafe has a covered gated area outside with tables and chairs for dog owners with bowls of water and a jar of dog biscuits. I would recommend Haven Hopton to anyone!
Thank you suewells50 for your review.
I am happy to read that this is you're third visit to us and that as per usual we did not disappoint from the moment you arrived you were welcomed by our friendly reception team who will always give you a courtesy call to make sure you are all settled in to your holiday home which was comfortable and up to our 5 * standard.
We here at Hopton are very proud of our new marina bar and stage and i am glad that you loved the changes we have made.
We are a pet friendly park and always try to make sure that there are places around park to take your four legged friend as well.
Again thank you for taking the time to write a review and we look forward to welcoming you back for the fourth time.
We have just returned from a weeks family holiday with our 2 year old. We had a brilliant holiday and were that sad to leave, we have already booked for next year!
Arrived earlier than planned and were greeted by very friendly and helpful reception staff. We were given our keys but told that the caravan wouldn’t be ready until 1pm so we were given our passes so that we could start to use the facilities.
Caravan - Platinum with Decking 33 Mentmore.
After staying in this grade of caravan last year on a different Haven site, our expectations were set high. Unfortunately, they were soon brought down. I am not sure if the caravan was coming to the end of its ‘lifespan’ but it was in need of some tlc. Draw handles came off in my hand, the blind pulls on the kitchen and bathroom blinds were snapped off, carpet was worn and coming up at certain areas, the Bluetooth sound system didn’t work and neither did the hairdryer. Cleanliness definitely needs paying more attention too. I couldn’t use one of the saucepans as there was that much burnt food on it that looked like it had been building up a while. The fireplace was full of handprints so obviously hadn’t been cleaned for a while. My daughter never went near it so it definitely wasn’t her sticky finger marks on it. Rubbish was still under the beds, breadcrumbs under the toaster, and safety pins left on the bedroom shelf. All in all, we were let down by the caravan. If it wasn’t my daughter being ill and the fact that we wanted to be near my parents caravan, I would have asked to move.
Facilities - Garden Room Bar
Very impressed with this. Tables and surrounding areas were spotless every time we visited. Bar service was quick and friendly. The drinks were reasonably priced. The food was very good value for money and even at busy times the wait was never long. One of the first things you are asked when ordering food is about allergies, not something that we are effected by but thought it was great that they asked.
Marine Show Bar
Again, impressive. We visited almost every night for the Sea Side Squad and never struggled to find a table.
They delivery to your caravan and the food was piping hot. Slightly overpriced but worth it.
Only visited once. Spacious and clean changing facilities. Warm toddler pool.
My daughter loved this, 3 storeys of soft play fun.
Walking access to the beach from 3 different access points around the park. They are marked as to whether they are stairs or ramp access. There is also a footpath that you can walk on that takes you from the site to Gorleston, it took us about 40 mins to get there on foot.
There isn’t much to do in Hopton Village itself but is on the bus route for Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft which is handy, the bus stops are about a 10 min walk from site. There is a nice pub called the White Hart, we only drank here but it was very nice atmosphere.
Overall we had a fab holiday and have booked to return next year, this time to one of the lodges.
Thank you Stace482 for your review.
I am happy to read that when you arrived you were greeted by our warm and friendly reception team who got you booked in swiftly so you could start your holiday early.
I am sorry to hear that when arriving at your platinum caravan it was not up to our usual 5* standard, If we were made aware we would certainly endeavour to rectify any issues that were brought to us but again i do apologise this was not correct for you.
It seems as though you had a busy and great time using all the facilities we offer from having dinner at the garden house restaurant, enjoying our newly refurbished marina bar and stage to your little one having a fun time in our brand new 3 storey soft play area, we here at Hopton are very proud of the new changes that we have been fortunate to have.
We are located in a great position being in the middle of great yarmouth and Lowestoft and also having good bus routes just outside the park.
Again thank you for your review and we cannot wait to welcome you back next year.
If you have any questions in regards to your booking please do not hesitate to contact myself on 01502 730214.
Arrived early as a couple and allocated a caravan straight away - reception staff, service and check - in were very organised welcoming and professional. Caravan spotlessly clean and we were pleased to see that there was radiator central heating if needed - we didn't as the weather was fabulous. We liked that the site has beach access as we enjoy coastal walks. We ate at the on site restaurant each night, the food quality and variety consistently very good. As adults without children with us, we enjoyed the big screen football each evening. We did feel that the doors separating the bar/entertainment area would benefit from automatically closing doors and why the Bingo so early!?????. Had a great break, would recommend this site and will return.
Thank you KarencH7485LG for your review.
I am so happy to read that when you arrived you were greeted by our welcoming reception team who were able to get you into your accommodation straight away so you could start your holiday early and that upon entering it was our usual 5* standards with it being spotlessly clean.
I am glad that you had fabulous weather so you could enjoy the beautiful beach which you can get to directly from park via 3 different accesses across the cliff top.
How lovely to read that you had good food in the restaurant and got to enjoy the big screen football.
The bingo is on early so that the marina bar is quieter and less busy so that the players can concentrate and hopefully win some big money.
Again thank you for your review and we hope to welcome you back soon.
have just come back from hopton after a week away with my husband. we stayed from the 16th of september until the 20th.. we decided to stay here after having to change our orignal booking which was ment to be to burnham on sea in may which we booked last year but then discoverd i was pregnant and needed somewhere close to home.we stayed in a fully accessable van due to me being disabled.we were checked in by a friendly lady and given the keys to the van which was bankside 14. the caravan was right near the facilities which was perfect as well as our own parking space next to the van. caravan was lovely and clean and had central heating. on the 1st evening i went over to the adult bingo and had a chat with a friendly security guard and later that night we went to watch the voclaist who was rather talented and who i enjoyed.however the newly refurbished showbar is rather small and cramped and the tables are rather difficult to get a electric wheelchair close to.its a shame as visited here for the day once and the showbar was all open planned which was better.the seating seems very little so i dread to think what its like at full capacity and if you want to go to the bar you have to go through another door as it is not in the same room as the stage.the doors to the show bar are heavy and almost impossible for a disabled person to open which is also a fire risk if there was a fire .the aracde is ok for what it is but the amount of tickets wanted for prizes is ridiculous.entertainment for adults is very dissapointing and a adult game show is only a few nights a week so the second night we decided to go to another haven park for their live act and game show.surely it would be nice to have somthing for the adults as well as the kids.one night there were 2 funstar shows back to back which was dissapointing which ment nothing for adults.might have been just bad luck but i had a pizza from pappa johns which was rather hard in the middle and impossible to eat.most staff were friendly however i noticed that when not on stage and if they saw you about the funstars did not seem rather happy or stop and talk to you which correct me if im wrong the job of a funstar is to smile and talk to holiday makers.the swimming pool was rather small and there wasnt any handle bars to get in and out the pool which isnt very safe or ideal for children the elderly or those with mobility issues.the pool was very shallow but then got deep very quickly meaning there wasnt a ideal spot for me to swim in and i got cold very quickly and had to get out .and for those who want a proper swim there was a tiny area which was a lane. we had a draining problem with the caravan as the plug in the showe was blocked meaning water wasnt draining as quick as it should which had to be brought up twice as wasnt resolved properly the first time.would i stay here again ? yes for the caravan and for the scenery as there was a lovely duck pond and grass area but not to use the facilites not the best haven park ive stayed at but not the worst.nice little park if you want a little get away and walk
Thank you sexychick93 for your review.
I am glad to read that you choose to come to us and that when you arrived you were checked in by our friendly and welcoming reception team and that your caravan was clean and lovely on arrival. Our accessible Holiday homes are all located close to the facilities with parking door side of the vans to make it easier for yourself.
We have had a major refurbishment on our show bar which is now our lovely marina bar and stage, so we appreciate any feedback to help us improve our guests experience.
We do try and cater for all ages from children's entertainment that begins at 6 pm to having live acts and shows that usually begin at around 9 pm on wards but i understand that not all acts will be to everybody's taste.
I am surprised to read that your pizza from papa johns was impossible to eat i am certain that if they were made aware they would of rectified this for you.
The swimming pool is a leisure pool with splash zones and slides to enjoy but we do have quieter times which i am sure one of our lifeguards would be happy to give advice as to when the best time is to go for a general swim would be.
Again thank you for your review, i will certainly pass your feedback on to the relevant departments.
After much fafing about changing parks and dates due to my wifes pregnancy we finally settled for here, staying 4 nights in september. staff were friendly, from reception to security, the shop, swimming pool etc.
our van was lovely, had to have an accessable one as wife needs a wheelchair. close to facilities so all i had to do was roll out of bed into the restaurant for breakfast. shop was spacious. the duck pond was nice to sit and relax by. though that day we had hired a trike and being a fluffy guy i didnt realise the hills were that steep.
was surprised to see the show bar divided in two, as we had come for a day visit the year before and seemed better the way it was.
only downfall i have to say about the park, not quite disabled friendly. by that i mean drop kerbs are few and far between, and in some cases theres one one side of the road but not on the other. in the show bar if theres only tables avaliable on the far side you have to get there via the dance floor, and if thats in use then youre screwed. and in the restaurant to get to the disabled toilet you have to do a 180 right by the gents and if someones coming out of there at the same time as someones coming out the disablec they will get a wack on the nose.
when playing the buzz live quiz the fun star did seem quite rushed and didnt really interact with the crowd. played it at caister and seashore up the road and theyre far more interactive. and also the entertainment wasnt very good for what im used to. mainly featured towards kids.
the swimming pool was rather small too. good if you want to just stand there and chuck a ball about but not if youre loike me and just want a general swim. yeah theres one lane on the far side to do that but if someones nana dorris is in there going at a snales pace to time your swim round them.
it is a good park and i would stay again but as mentioned above would put me off usint the facilities at least
Thank you Koragg_Knightwolf for your review.
I am glad to read that you choose to stay with us and that when you arrived your holiday home was up to our usual 5* standard, all our accessible units are located close to the facilities so you are a stones throw away from enjoying all the amenities.
Thank you for your feedback for drop kerbs and accessibility for the roads unfortunately the main road going in and out of our park is a public road, in regards to the show bar we have just had a major refurbishment so we appreciate any comments to help us improve this so i will certainly pass this on.
We are a family friendly park so the majority of our early entertainment is directed towards children but we do have live entertainment later on to entertain all ages.
I am happy to read that you got to enjoy our pool it is a leisure pool with splash zones in but we do have quieter times where you may get more of a chance to enjoy a general swim but our lifeguards can always assist and give you advice as to when the best time this would be.
Again thank you for your review and we hope to welcome you back soon.
