“Value for Money”
Reviewed June 21, 2014

We enjoyed a short break here in June 14. The Hotel & rooms were very clean & well maintained. Our room was in the new wing (where the rooms have names rather than numbers). It was quite well furnished with plenty of cupboard/drawer space. Our only complaint would be the size of the ensuite which was tiny and had nowhere to put your toiletries. It also had a very squeaky sliding door! The rooms have very thin walls & we could hear the TV next door.

All the staff were welcoming & very helpful. In the evenings there was entertainment, which we enjoyed, although I couldn't tell you who was performing as none of the musicians gave their names as far as I could tell! It was definitely geared towards the older generation.

Our stay was half board. Breakfast & dinner were at set times - 8.30am and 6pm, no flexibility, which we found rather restrictive on holiday. The breakfast was ok and reasonable quality. We found the evening meals rather bland and almost all from 'frozen' produce. I guess that's the only way they can keep costs down. But they were well presented and hot. Choices for evening meals had to be made in the morning, after breakfast. The hotel has lovely grounds & a very pretty swimming pool area. The weather wasn't warm enough for us to make use of it, unfortunately.

The hotel is very convenient for the town and beach. We visited Sealife and Yesterday's World and found them both to be worth the visit. (Sealife is quite expensive unless you book the day before online). All in all we had a good time and the break was good value for money.

I have just returned from the Hotel Victoria. The hotel is in an ideal location for the beach, Pleasuresure Beach entertainment centre and Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park.

I stayed in the Arthur Room and it was very clean and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back to this hotel and will be recommending it to my friends and family.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool are much warmer and some have been recently refurbished.

I took a group of 47 to this hotel early April. We practically filled the hotel. Very good check in and parking on site for the coach was very useful. All rooms and public areas were very clean and comfortable. Everyone at the hotel goes theextra mile to ensure everything is fantastic. Food is good. You are asked for your choice of next meal each time which ensures you know what your meal will be before you go off for the day and the hotel does not cook food that is going to be wasted so a win win situation. The restaurant staff are very good and helpful. Bar prices are very reasonable. Entertainment wa very good - especially Shaun. The staff all join in to help make a fantastic atmosphere. May is one off!!!!! Amazing lady! Wish I could bottle her energy and enthusiasm. All of my group had a onderful time. We will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: Make sure you inform hotel in good time of your requirements. John is only too happy to help

i have just returned home after a 4 night break, staying at this hotel. As it was very quiet (being the week between half term and the Mayday bank holiday) I was given a small double room instead of the single that was booked. My room and all public rooms were exceptionally clean. The proprietors and stall were all very friendly and I received the impression that nothing was too much trouble. i did not need anything other that what was supplied, but am confident that whatever I asked they would have done their best to accommodate my wishes.
