Stayed here with family for 4 nights. Staff were friendly, facilites not great but good for price we paid. Not brilliant for young children but they made friends with nearby campers which made up for lack of childrens entertainment.

We stayed here for a couple of nights. We were a party of 5 in 2 tents. The owners were really friendly towards us and we pitched together near the pond which was a good spot quiet, close to the toilets and washing up spot. It was lovely just sat in the field in the evening having a barbecue and a few beers with a fabulous array of stars. The campsite is a 5 - 10 minute walk from the river and the boats and the local pub 'The Lion Inn'. It was really busy here on a Friday night but lovely home made basic pub food. I was surprised to read the poor reviews here as we didn't experience any of these problems. The queue for the shower could have been an issue in the orning but wechose to shower in the evening instead when there was no queue. All in all lovely location and lovely base for exploring Norfolk,

The owner was more than welcoming and extremely helpful when found our car battery flat. Tranquil location, in footpath heaven. 10 mins walk to the river. Quiet village.

We arrived at this site on Thursday afternoon for a pre-booked 3 night stay at around 1pm, this is the time we have arrived on three previous visits without any problems. On this occasion we were refused admission with no explanation as to why we could not pitch up. The site had only 2 pitches occupied. We asked if we could leave our 2 motorhomes on an empty field and take our 5 children to the park for a couple of hours - even this request was refused in a very unfriendly manner.
We were forced to find another site at short notice and will not be returning.

Management response:Responded September 16, 2016

We advised the customer, upon a very early arrival, that there was a private matter happening and , on this occasion, it was not possible for an early pitch -up
(we like to arrange an earlier arrival time in advance, via a quick telephone call).
We did explain that, if the matter had not been dealt with by the stated arrival time of 4PM, then the customer would be able to pitch up, whether the private matter had been dealt with or not.
We will always try to accommodate an early arrival, but this does need to be booked in advance.

Thurne is a place of outstanding countryside and tranquility if you are looking for a corner of heaven Woodside farm is the place to be.
My husband and I stayed in our touring caravan on this beautiful campsite which is secluded and quiet. There is a small campsite and room for one touring caravan which meant that we had the caravan location opposite a lovely duck pond to ourselves. The facilities on site are clean and well presented Julia & Andy are lovely hosts, keen to help with any queries about the surrounding area. I would reccommend this site to everyone who are keen just to to chill out and relax.
