“Ideal place for a walk with great scenery”
Reviewed March 6, 2014

We visited this beautiful spot a couple of weeks ago, when we parked up it was raining heavy so we sat in the car and had a cup of tea whilst it dried up enough to go for a walk. From the lower car park we headed to the right through the gate and down to the reservoir where we walked all the way round to the visitor centre in less than 45 minutes. It was very tranquil, with a few different species of bird singing to us on the way round. There were families with children and dog walkers. We decided to leave venturing off the beaten track through the woodland for another day when the weather was drier. Looking forward to doing that next time. As we wanted more than just refreshments from the cafe the man recommended the pub at the end of the road. We chose food from the bar menu, toasted sandwiches with salad and coleslaw and a portion of chips, we were wholly satisfied. The landlord was very friendly and struck up conversation with us. Most enjoyable afternoon. We will take a picnic next time when the weather is nice as there are plenty of benches.

“Put a smile on my face”
Reviewed February 23, 2014

I came here a couple of weeks ago and it's lovely. My daughter and her boyfriend Ross had a walk around the woodland route and the scenery is amazing. It wasn't too busy so we went for some tea and cakes at the bogart brig cafe. It was a lovely cafe the only disappointment was that I had to pay as Ross refused :(
It's a great place for family's with young children as it's very easy and very safe for young ones

“A breath of fresh air”
Reviewed February 14, 2014

love to go here for a breath of fresh air. It's scenic and a nice steady walk. Dogs allowed as well and ours loves the woods. The views are great and the camera always comes with us as the changing seasons make it different every time. Sometimes we have found the shop and small cafe open and the prices are good.

“Peaceful and Scenic”
Reviewed January 31, 2014

The low-level walk right around the reservoir can be fairly easily completed in an hour, even with small children. For those wanting a more energetic and/or longer walk, there are paths that climb up to the top of the moor. An ideal place for dog walking.

“An outstanding area of natural beuaty”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

What can be said? Excellent area of natural beuaty for relaxing times walking the dogs and spending time with the children. The car park is just 50p and there's an ice cream van on site most times for refreshments. If you go on a day with activities it's even better. The new trails give chance to see deer and other wildlife. I've been more times than I've had hot dinners. Highly recomended.
