eureka is one of my favourite places to take my niece, the annual pass is great and we have definitely made use out of it. If you have a day with kids it's a must, my niece can play in the shop for hours if we had time and she loves it when they have a story time and making a picture in the craft room upstairs.

Food place for the kids they loved running wild. Food not up to much and I dont think they let you bring your own in so it was poor and what we did get when we got seated was cold. But the kids enjoyed it and I suppose that is why we went there. If we had wanted a restaurant we would have gone elsewhere.
The had a funny rule that you could bring that particular child back within the year but we wanted to bring some of the other grandchildren but you had to pay again for them - Beurocracy gone crackers and I know I cant spell burocracy!!!
The baby buggy parking seemend to be outside!!

Hi Brian M, and thanks very much for taking the time to review your visit. We're thrilled to hear that your grandchildren enjoyed it, and I just wanted to clarify a few things that might make future visits more enjoyable for yourself as well!

We do indeed allow families to bring packed lunches, and have several eating areas apart from the cafe (including a heated Northern Rail train carriage) that families can use for picnics. Additionally, we have four buggy parks located inside the museum: one next to each of our Under 5's galleries, and an extra one adjacent to the cafe entrance.

The rule that you mention, about bringing the same children back, is indeed one of the terms of use for our Annual Pass (passes are non-transferable and valid for the visitors paid for on the day of the visit). Because we are an educational charity, all admission fees go back into running the museum; rather than bureaucracy, we feel it's the best way to maintain the museum while also offering families excellent value for money.

We look forward to seeing you and your family again soon at Eureka!

Plenty to do for all ages. Great learning place to visit. Our 4 year old granddaughter enjoyed her visit so much that she did not want to leave at the end of the day. To keep the expnse of the visit to a minimum they have a seating area. The quality of their food area and choices are very good and reasonable.

All in all a good centre for the family to explore although this place does need investment as it is a little run down. Don't forget to take a packed lunch as the cafe is very expensive!
