We stayed for one night , which was a Sunday so the hotel was quiet . we found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful especially Cameron the young man working the bar , he was just lovely and we really enjoyed chatting to him .
The rooms are comfortable and very clean and the gardens are beautiful. We were lucky enough to have a sunny afternoon so enjoyed a few drinks in the garden .
We enjoyed a 3 course meal in the restaurant which was very nice and once again the service was friendly and professional.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay again

We only stayed one night but found it to be very relaxing. The food is good and the room was very comfortable. The bed was superb, In fact, the whole experience couldn't have been better. We didn't get the best out of the gardens as it never stopped raining but they looked lovely and hopefully when we go again it will be garden weather.

This hotel is wonderful, the restaurant food is delicious, the staff are lovely. Everything is spot on apart from one thing, I have visited twice this year and both times they got my bill wrong. Sixty pounds last week and £120 in April. Naughty!! Slightly takes the edge off what was two delightful stays. Check your bills.

Room tip: 18 is a nice duplex, quiet, beautifully furnished

Thank you Hotpot2215 for choosing Holdsworth House and for your feedback. We will look in to why there apears to be an inconsistency/accuracy with your billing and indeed will look to implement further training if required. Thank you for highlighting the problem.

From the moment we entered we were met by a very helpful, friendly receptionist who offered us a relaxing seat & a glass of complimentary wine while our room was ready as we had arrived an hour or so before the allocated time of arrival for the rooms. We only had to wait about fifteen minutes. All the staff are friendly & will go out of their way to offer advise on local places of interest. A lady whom unfortunately I did't get her name, told us she had worked there for twenty six years was especially helpful with an obvious passion for the house & such a well informed knowledge about the house history as she gave us a tour of it, most interesting. Will definitely be staying again, very soon we hope.

Room tip: I think all of the rooms are lovely, we had a house room & although small was lovely, clean & cozy.

We stayed for the night on the 9th July to celebrate my partners birthday. From start to finish what an amazing lovely place. From the moment we checked in the young lady on reception couldn't do enough to help. I'd emailed the hotel late the night before asking if a bottle of wine could be put into the room & this was carried out. I'd booked an executive suite, not split level, & was not disappointed, can I just say well done to the cleaners as well, as everything was spotless, even down to the last detail of the tiles being spotlessly clean. We had dinner in the restaurant that evening & again this was lovely, slight criticism would be the steak we felt were a bit fatty & chips a little too well done, they were black, Also we wanted a pre-dinner drink in the bar before & as there was a wedding on you share the bar with the wedding guests whilst they change the room about, which isn't a problem, but it is quite small so getting to the bar can be an issue for a small area, but don't be put off by these couple of comments as overall it's a lovely place & would recommend to anyone wishing to stay in the area.
