My husband and I stayed overnight at this hotel taking advantage of an offer with Travel Zoo,what a lovely hotel! This building is full of west Yorkshire charm and old grandeur. The staff are all without exception a very helpful and cheerful bunch and were ready to help to make our stay a pleasure from entering the hotel to departure the following morning. We had arranged to meet another couple here for dinner that evening and we were not disappointed with the quality of the food, the wine and the delightful restaurant we ate in,there is a good choice of food and also a extensive bar menu to choose from. We had also been upgraded on arrival which was a welcome suprise! The whole hotel is immaculately clean and the service is to a very high standard,we will certainly stay here again.

My husband and I had a lovely 2 night stay at this delightful hotel. I cannot understand why anyone could possibly describe this hotel as "dated grandeur".

From the moment we pulled into the car park to the minute we left it was a lovely break in a charming building that lived upto expectations. We had a fabulous dinner, two lovely breakfasts and a very nice afternoon tea.

All of the reception rooms are beautiful and dressed for the period. Our room (37) which was described as a snug double was also very good and spacious. The staff without exception were extremely professional, helpful and friendly. The location is not brillant but as the hotel is over 400 years old was there before all that now surrounds it.

The garden is fabulous and standing in it you could easily feel as if you were in the mddle of the country. We would definitely recommend and will return.

We stayed here on 25th August 2013, which was our 1st wedding anniversary. We were originally going to get married here but living in Manchester wasn't practical. However spending our anniversary here was the next best thing & we have also recommended you to 2 of our family members getting married next year.
My hubby booked it as a surprise in a suite, which was amazing complete with champagne & chocolates.
The food was second to none and the staff were lovely.
Our room was beautiful and I'd recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone.

I got married here on Thursday 15th August 2013 and from the start of the wedding planning (mid 2012) to Friday16th August everything was brilliant. Claire the wedding planner was always available and was happy to oblige to our every need through the whole wedding process. The wedding breakfast was superb and all our guests enjoyed the food (the beef was gorgeous). Holdsworth House itself is beautiful with great character, features and very pretty grounds. The rooms are lovely, spacious and very comfortable. The staff are very professional and courteous from the receptionist to the waiters to the kitchen staff. Nothing was a problem. The breakfast the following morning was outstanding, absolutely delicious. My wife and I had a brillant day and so happy we chose this venue for our special day. I cant say enough great things about Holdsworth House and have recommended it to friends who are looking to getting married in the not so distant future. A huge thank you to every member of staff that helped us have such a fantastic, memorable day

We have stayed here before and loved it so we returned. If anything it was better this time around. This is an old country house extended very much in style, with public areas totally in keeping with the 17th century building. Beautifully done.

Like so many country house hotels, it thrives on the wedding trade and that was strongly in evidence during our stay. But it didn't stop the staff from taking good care of us. The room was comfortable and reasonably spacious. We were definitely refreshed by our stay.
The restaurant is superb, although a little pricey for the area. Service is willing but a little understated. We asked for a room change and were given one right away.

A car is more or less essential to get around. There's a bus stop outside the gate (which we used last time extensively) but the service has been cut to almost zero and it only takes you to Halifax anyway. There's a lot to see in a car though.

Excellent value at under £100 per night.

Room Tip: Avoid being close to the car park, can get noisy

Attended a friend's wedding here and stayed the night. Very good value, spotlessly clean and well maintained, and all the staff were very friendly. The house and grounds are beautiful, and my friends tell me that the organisation of the wedding was very smooth. The food for the 'wedding breakfast' was fantastic - 50 covers and each as perfect as the last.
