We recently held our wedding at the hotel and many friends and family also stayed for either one or two nights. From the wedding side, the team were fantastic and the day ran like clockwork, the only concern we had was a large bar bill had been added to our room and neither my Husband nor I were asked to sign for it so it was a bit of a surprise when we checked out.

With regards to the hotel stay, we were a little upset that although we had booked all our bedrooms under the wedding reference, we were placed all over the hotel which was disappointing. My friend was given a room that was overlooking the air conditioning units and roof space and she asked to move, however my Mum arrived the next day and was given that same noisy, unpleasant room.

The suite we were allocated was satisfactory. Overall, I would recommend having the ceremony at hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the air conditioning units

We booked this hotel as a family member was having a wedding at the hotel. We had travelled a long way and were pretty tired when we arrived but lucky enough to be able to grab some food at the bar before heading for bed ready for the busy wedding day ahead. Unfortunately our first night's stay was ruined by some other guests being very rowdy into the early hours, which was no fault of the hotel, they cannot control who comes to stay with them. The night manager was very helpful and made arrangements for the next night so we would not be disturbed by the same group again. The room was great, we enjoyed using the swimming pool once we found it and had a great time at the wedding. Breakfast each morning was very good. I would be happy to stay here again

We booked this hotel through Groupon. It's quite local to us, we needed an escape. And, wow!!! We weren't disappointed.

The rooms are brilliant..... If you are on business they have everything in the room you need.... No need to go chasing for it at reception. And the beds!?!??? Oh my lord.... First time I've slept through the night in 10 years.

The restaurant is something else. How the chef isn't Michlen starred is beyond me.... Pricey, yes..... But worth every penny.... Each bite was better than the last.

Leisure facilities are basic but all there.... Swim, sauna, jacuzzi.... Simples!!!

The surrounding bay etc is lovely.

Thoroughly recommend this place.

I sometimes stay here when I have an overnight trip to Portsmouth. The rooms are reasonably priced compared to those closer to Portsmouth, but with the A27 only a few minutes away it's no time to town at all.
The location is nice, it's right on the edge of langstone harbour, with a couple of nice pubs opposite. The staff are always pleasant and helpful and the food in the restaurant was very nice - better than you expect, with an interesting menu.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, although the design is probably due an upgrade in the near future. There's a bar and a fitness facility, but I didn't use these. There's plenty of easy parking.

Reserving over the telephonre and checking in was a pleasure thanks to the helpful Sophie. We turned left from reception to go to our room and went down an excessively chilly air conditioned corridor to our room trying not to look at psychedelic 60/70 s decor and carpets. Room itself good value if a little dated, poor wi fi. We decided to have a drink and a meal and went to the dreadfully lit, cheerless bar to the right of reception.. Although there were only a few customers getting a drink or menus was difficult and seemed to be an intrusion on private conversations between the staff. Was told tersely that " menus are on the table". Bar person eventually conceded they were not and handed me menu without a word. In view of this indifference and prices ( 6 oz steak at £20 with ludicrously priced wines we went elsewhere to dine. Good place to sleep but that's it.

Not sure how they are a four star hotel? Clean enough and modern, comfy beds and adequate rooms, bar a few small Alex Polizi-esque issues, but the reception staff weren't exactly welcoming and I find it unusual for check staff to answer the phone three times while they're dealing with you. Wifi almost non existent, went to bar, took ten mins for a staff member to appear although she was very friendly. Enquired if channel on TV could be changed to sky sports but was told this was too expensive to have, (Four star hotel can't afford sky sports?!)

Would have been perfect if there was better broad band, a hotel to this standard should have free high speed Wi Fi. My wife and I found the rooms very quiet and restful. We had a room on the second floor with a nice view across the sea to the Hayling Bridge. Bar food and service was excellent. Second visit this year, will certainly stay again.
