“"Happy Days - Fab Holiday"”

My wife and I have stayed at Katie's Cockle Warren B&B Cottage Hotel for short breaks many times over 14 years, so when we were offered to go self catering for 7 nights to bring the whole family together, we couldn't wait to book up.

The hotel is well equipped to make it the best home from home stay ever......has large and spacious rooms providing a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay.  Fire log burner, conservatory and heated swimming pool, what more can you ask for........then walk about 100 meters across the road from the doorstep to the sea.

Every time my wife and I have stayed at Katie's Hotel she has always made us feel totally welcome including our pet dogs (basil & pippa).

Thank you for a fabulous holiday - Going back for a short break in mid August.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 & 4, have sea views. Outside rooms 5 & 6, ideal for pets.

Myself and 6 of my family stayed here as we were in the area for a wedding.

Location
The B&B is right on the beach front and a short walk to the nearest paper shop.
There are pubs and a café within walking distance.

Cockle Warren
Nice looking building, car parking on the gravel drive and a pond out front with very lively fish.
Lounge area, breakfast room and conservatory downstairs leading outside to a patio area and swimming pool. The patio area is very relaxing and rather pleasant when the sun is shining.

Room
We stayed in an en suite double room. The bed and linen was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The room had a TV, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, tea & coffee facilities and adequate storage. The view from the room was great and looked out onto the seafront. Only slight criticism of the room would be the bathroom, there was a bath with a shower attachment but you couldn’t actually fix the shower to the wall.

Food & Drink
The breakfast was tasty, cereal and fresh fruit to start. The cooked breakfast was nice with plenty of toast and tea and coffee.

Staff
Really friendly owners running this place, made us feel extremely welcome and were very helpful throughout our stay.

Overall
We enjoyed our stay here and were very comfortable at the Cockle Warren whilst attending our wedding.

Weve stayed here a few times before and when thinking about somewhere to take my 92 year old godfather for a short break, this was the obvious choice. Kate greeted us like old friends and her genuine warmth and the lovely accomodation won the elderly chaps heart straight away. Our dog was treated like an honoured guest and all in all we just felt right at home. Kate helpfully had booked a table for us at the pub next door which does good food so all in all we could not have been better cared for. We have booked to come back in April as a 93rd birthday celebration.
Hayling Island is not exactly a glamour seaside location, but if you want a bit of peace away from the hoards, a great base for exploring Hampshire and beyond and clean, spacious, homely accommodation and the bubbliest, friendliest host, then look no further. Cockle Warren can't be beaten.

Room Tip: If you want a sea view you want to be in the house but if you want a lovely self contained room that...

We stayed here for two nights whilst visiting family for a wedding celebration. The room (room 5) was spotlessly clean, well equipped and had lovely comfortable beds. My only comment about the room was that it was perhaps a bit cold and damp feeling when we arrived, but a quick blast from the electric heaters soon sorted that out.
What really makes this place are its owners. They are so friendly and kind, and nothing is too much bother. Breakfast each day was excellent, lots of lovely coffee, cereals (great choice) and delicious homemade fruit salad and stewed rhubarb. Also on offer, a cooked breakfast which was equally as good. The toast was also super as it was made from 'proper' bread rather than the usual plastic rubbish you get.
All in all a very pleasant stay. We definitely plan to return with our two girls and little dog in the future.
Thank you!

We first stayed in Cockle Warren in March 2011 and returned in March 2012. We plan to return in March 2013!
On both occasions, we stayed in Room One which is a lovely double room with sea view.
The bed is so comfy and the room is spacious and clean.
The breakfast is great and the flexible timing is lovely when you are on holiday.
We had great weather and explored the Island on foot.
Everyone at Cockle Warren is so friendly and helpful. It is a great place to stay!

Room Tip: The rooms at the front have great sea views.
