“Great garden to photograph”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2014

I spent a couple of hours here on a Snowdrop open day. Although some of the garden was closed off due to the recent floods there was still plenty to explore. This is not a garden for a keen horticulturist, if you are wanting to see lots of interesting plants you would be disappointed. However that said the snowdrops and hellebores were stunning. This garden is all about the sculptures and garden rooms.

This is a great place to practice your photography skills, even on a grey March Sunday there were lots of interesting things around the garden to take pictures of.

“Well Worth A Visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2014

Its easy to see why Joe Swift (of BBC Gardener's World fame) nominated this as his favourite garden. It is full of interest and variation. There are gardens within gardens and round each corner a different vista where the garden design cleverly leads your eye to some feature. The garden is adorned with many works of art which feature heavily in the design.

The garden is wonderful for children. It features a rope swing from a large tree and an island castle surrounded by a moat. There is also an area of enormous gunnera containing many paths to be explored.

Every year, normally June, there is a Camra organised beer festival. There surely can't be many better locations for a beer festival. Well recommended.

“Interesting garden”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2013

We walked from home, having lived locally for 45 years, and never visited before! Very interesting garden, with lot's of nooks and crannys.
Unfortunately they are planning to build 1200 houses within a few hundred yards from the garden, so it may not be so tranquil afterwards. :(

“wonderful - tranquil - a gem inside Harlow”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

The Gibbard Garden is a true piece of Harlow History. The house and gardens were once the home of Sir Fredrick and Lady Gibbard, as a gift he left the gardens to the people of Harlow and it is extremely popular and loved by the local people. Its a wonderful day out as the garden is divided into sections, each one offering its own magic and wonder. Enjoy - you wont be disappointed!
