We stayed here for four nights recently, as part of a coach trip. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with tea and coffee facilities in the room. We had use of the indoor swimming pool which was a bonus.
We are both vegetarians and even though we did have a vegetarian meal each evening, we didnt get a choice, and what we did have was not very nice. The staff however serving both breakfast and evening meal were extremely helpful and friendly.
The hotel is a bit out of the way, so unless you have your own transport you are limited to the hotel bar in the evenings.

We stayed here for one night as part of a travel style bus trip to see the shard in London. After being told where we were staying by the bus driver and reading some of the less positive reviews we weren't really looking forward to staying there. However, we couldn't really find fault with anything. The staff were very friendly and smartly dressed. The food was tastey and filling, the rooms were clean and had the added luxury of a very large bath towel. I've no idea how much a room costs as it was part of the weekend package but would be hard pushed to criticise the hotel part of the trip :)

Stayed here for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) in early June after being successful in bidding. The room we had was acceptable and clean. The bathroom was clean, and the shower good. However the shower/bath would be difficult to access if guests had mobility problems with their legs. There were tea and coffee making facilities but it would have been nice to have a couple of packets of biscuits as well. The bed was comfortable and both my wife and I had 2 good nights sleep - there was not much noise to disturb us.

We both had breakfasts on both mornings, and had to wait for bacon and eggs to be cooked to replenish the hot plates. On the Sunday, we had to lay our own table, as with other guests, and there were no serviettes available. In addition, the selection of pastries, bread and cold meat were limited.

We had dinner on first night, the service was good but we found the menu limited, and the food average - the hotel had run out of some items such as the sea bass. The carpet in the restaurant was stained and needed replacing.

The swimming pool was good, and whilst I did not use the gym, it looked pretty good with residents and non-residents using the facilities.

Overall, it was an acceptable place to stay for what we paid.

I visited this hotel as part of a coach holiday, staying four nights Mon - Thurs end of May bank holiday week.
I had read the mixed reviews prior to staying, and I thought 'as long as its clean, it will be ok'. Well, the whole place was generally very worn around the edges, and needed a complete update. However, the bedroom/bathroom/bedding and towels were clean and there was a tv, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities The dining room was pleasant enough and the food was adequate, there was hot, well cooked selection for breakfast, with cereal, yoghurt and fruit if you prefered the cold option.
The staff were friendly and Sarah, who was on the reception desk, was very helpfull. There was a small bar but very little else happening at this place.
I suppose the words 'basic' and 'no frills' come to mind when I consider the hotel overall. The big down side to this hotel is its location, being in the middle of nowhere. - Harlow Town centre is a £7 taxi ride away, and I believe there is a pub a 10 min walk away.

Room Tip: Room 139 is adjacent to a corridor leading to the gym, which is open late. Unfortunately, with doors...

Stayed here in late May, after booking last minute via a third party website.

Upon arrival, the reception area seemed pleasant enough, and the room was clean and spacious. But apart from that, the hotel is in need of serious refurbishment. The bar area is small, and is open to non-residents; which for guests maybe off putting. In the bar is a tv on the wall, which constantly plays music and no TV channels. The food menu in the bar is basic, during our 3 night stay we ate out all evenings.

The corridors in the hotel are unclean and the carpet is a complete disgrace, with black stains throughout the hotel. Very off putting.

The hotel caters for guests who are on coach tour holidays, so breakfast in the morning can take a long time if you get your timing wrong.

Overall, it was pleasant place to stay. Unfortunately on the Saturday afternoon, we had no water in our bathroom for about 4 hours. Also the toilet never flushed properly so we couldnt use it.
The Plumber was very sorry for the incovenience and we accepted that the pipe work was at fault.
On Monday morning the food was very slow in being served, the buffett never had everything at the same time, you ate your sausages then went up for the bacon then back for the egg, because nothing was ready at the same time.

Got a deal for £23 for a room for a family of three through lastminute.com, which must be hard to beat.

On our arrival, the Bridget Jones lookalike at reception found our booking on the computer and said the payment had not gone through. Whether it had or not was nothing to do with me - it was between lastminute.com and the hotel. Then she said "it's definitely an advance booking price..." which seemed to me like a rude put-down.

We had asked for a child bed, which was broken to the extent of being unuseable, higher in the middle than at either end because the legs were broken and with many slats missing.

Asked for a replacement, which cam and appeared OK but was incredibly uncomfortable so in the end we all slept in the one bed.

On the positive side, the room was clean, if cramped, and the spa was excelllent.

Would I stay there again? At that price, yes; at the full price, definitely not.
