We attended a special tribute night at this venue for our wedding anniversary. Heavy snow was forecast but we braved the elements with a few friends and family. The show was excellent although poorly attended due to the weather. Most of our party left early due to the worsening conditions. By the end of an excellent night we were told no taxis were running so managed to book the last two rooms in the hotel. We were very impressed by the friendliness of the staff who were themselves stranded. The rooms were very reasonably priced, clean and comfortable. And above all warm! We only live in Harlow so would not normally stay here but will definitely recommend it to friends and family.

We booked our stay with hoseasons and stayed in the lovely lodges close to the new marina.
As I had read on previous reviews the lodges are very close together with only small wicker fences surrounding the hot tubs. We were there in February so it didnt bother us too much but I think in Summer when people are sat out more you may feel a little bit over looked.
The lodges decor is first class and the beds super comfy both bedrooms are en suite with a fantastic shower in one and a bath with shower in the other. The kitchen is very well equiped with lots of utensils / glasses etc. There was even a washer. It also has a full size freezer.
The train line is close to the lodges but didn't bother us at all. The new marina is really big with a new coffee shop. The rail link to London is good and Roydon station just 10 mins walk along the canal. The ticket office was never manned though there is a ticket machine which we used each day. Trains run about every half hour into London Liverpool st though you may need to change at Broxbourne.
You are also close to the Lee Valley for White water rafting and ice skating.
The lodges are lovely and obviously well kept to a high standard but remember they are very close together !!

Stayed in a single storey building and parked right opposite our room (no. 3) Large bedroom window overlooked the canal which was lovely although quiet this time of year. Clean comfortable room with 4 channel old style TV. Tea, coffee & biscuits. Breakfast in a bag given at Check-in! They gave us cereal, crossiant with jam & butter, fruit yoghurt and orange juice. This was fine for us. There was a small mini fridge which hummed. A higher and slightly larger table would be useful to eat at. We enjoyed a walk along the canal. Not much to do in Roydon, so visited nearby towns.

Room Tip: Room number 1 wheel chair friendly. As single storey (numbers 1 to 10 I think, with one step up to...

We decided as a group to visit this establishment for a Luther van dross evening with a meal as 14 of us. The venue was filled with over 100 guests and other than Luther, it was terrible. We were supposed to be seated 7.30 for dinner, starters did not arrive till nearly 9. They ran out of wine glasses whilst having arrival drinks, cause the frozen shrimps were served in the glasses, the starter tasted terrible.
Main meal arrived stone cold and the most tiny portions I have ever seen. The dessert was much the same. The quality of the food was shocking and the service too. There was only 3 serving staff for over 100 people and we were also made to fetch our own drinks which they run out of. When many of us asked to speak to the manager they were very rude and they refused to speak with any if us. Considering we paid 40 a head just for the food you expect much better. If you are looking to book seriously re consider.

We have just spent a long week-end in a VIP Lodge with hot tub. The lodge was lovely and beautifully furnished to a high standard. Unfortunately the hot tub was very exposed facing directly out to the road, although it had a screen and bushes around it,in no way did they provide any privacy. We therefore chose not to use the hot tub. The kitchen did not have a blind or curtains up at the window and from the front of the lodge we could be looked into from the static mobile home park opposite, on the same site.
Parts of the site are quite run down, while others when finished wil be lovely. This is very much a 'work in progress' site, which has been previously mentioned and was pointed out to us during the 'Hoseasons' booking process.
The site is very well situated for train access into London Liverpool St Station,we spent a lovely day in London on the Saturday. The train line runs very close to the lodges, but this was not a probelem. Also the ongoing building work did not really affect us as no building went on over the week-end. The approach road to the site is very uneven with quite severe pot holes which really need filling in. The walk along the canal to the railway station would be more enjoyable if this was done.
Overall this is a peaceful place to stay and the lodges inside are lovely, but the actual site itself could be better laid out to provide more privacy.
