Four of stayed for one night and enjoyed the food and drink. Basils is the fine dining experience and it is excellent value. We had drinks in Jocks Bar then dinner in Basils. We found the staff to be both relaxed and enjoying their work. They were good fun. Would recommend a stay on a dinner bed and breakfast basis

We were part of a group of about 50 golfers from Scotland and Spain who play against each other every year. This year the venue was Kinross. A four night stay with a round on each of the Green Hotel courses plus Aberdour Golf Club sounded perfect and it almost was. The food in the hotel was of the highest quality, the rooms spacious and reasonably well appointed, the staff and service excellent. Unfortunately the twin beds were very, very firm and the pillows solid (a softer one was provided on request) and the hotel floorboards were exceptionally noisy when someone walked past our door. Sleep quality was therefore not good, particularly on the last night when the plumbing made loud noises all night long and ensured no chance of a restful night's sleep. Having said that, and read other reviews, we would be prepared to go again to stay and play the excellent golf courses.

Room Tip: If you like soft beds avoid Room 11

I stayed here on 11th May 2013 on a deal from 5pm which was about £75. It included a 3 course dinner, bottle of wine in room and breakfast.

The hotel is old fashioned but the rooms are big with plasma tv and our room looked over the well kept garden. We done some exploring and found there were lots to do. There was a gig on at the back but at £16 a ticket (considering we had no clue who the band were) we didn’t opt to go in. There is also a curling rink and across the road you can use the swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi & steam room at their sister hotel which we used after we checked out.

Our dinner was in Basil’s restaurant and the food was really unbelievable and we would have paid £75 just for the dinner.

The only let down was the service. We phoned reception as soon as we arrived to request an ice bucket to chill the bottle of wine that was left for us. An hour later nothing arrived so we had to call again. In the restaurant all the other tables around us got a bottle of water, bread before the meal and were seen to (napkins placed on your lap etc) but we got none of this. The waitress did offer us bread after our main course when she seen we had not been given any but it was a bit late by then. The restaurant is rather small and they had plenty of staff so we should never have been missed out.

Breakfast was buffet style with plenty to choose from, the black pudding was amazing.

There were a lot of golfers there with several large groups of men who were drunk at dinner and it seemed breakfast too. This didn’t bother us at all as it is a golfing resort and you expect large groups but it may disturb other people I guess.

For the money we paid we felt we got a really good deal and will be back at the restaurant again (hopefully with better service).

Stayed at the Green Hotel this Saturday, bought a 5pm big deal, can't remember what it cost but was at most around £70 for two.
What did we get for our money? We got a spacious room overlooking the garden equipped with all the mod cons you would expect of a top class hotel ( large flat screen TV, comfy bed, tea & coffee making, toiletries an best of all a big comfy bed).

As part of the deal there was a bottle of wine in our room and dinner on Saturday night was included. We were looked after in the restaurant by Sheila and a team of young waiting staff who showed a level of expertise way beyond their years ( I suspect this is down to Sheila who leads by example).

We had a beautiful dinner and chose the rib eye steak which was available at a very reasonable supplement.

The only adverse comment I could make concerned the wine available in the restaurant, in the bar I could purchase a bottle of Shiraz for around £14 but in the restaurant their wine list was totally different and a bottle of Shiraz was £29.95 very disappointing!

Don't dilute your customers enjoyment of your excellent hotel by only offering very expensive wine in the restaurant!

Only an hours drive away from Lanarkshire, this hotel and golf resort is an ideal weekend away for the boys. Located right in the main street, with the two golf courses right across the road, everything is set up for the perfect lads retreat. The staff are the friendliest, most polite and curteous we have encountered, and no request was too much to ask. We dined in Basil's restaurant on Friday night, and this was probably suited more to more experienced diners, as some of our lads had never had breast of pigeon as a starter! The food was fancy but also delicious, the crunch vegetabled were amazing. On Saturday night we dined in Jock's Bar with the rest of the golf parties, and though this was more like the pub grub we are used to, it was cooked and presented as good as the night before.
The young, enthusiastic and very capable staff were excellent, from reception to the bar and waiting on us for every little whimper. They are almost too nice, but down to earth.
I also used the health suite across the road, and on Saturday the comfy-seated bar was the ideal spot to watch the F.A. Cup Final.
This hotel and resort also has an Italian eaterie, which is very reasonably priced for both food and drink.
If guys are looking for a golf weekend or couples for somewhere that really has it all, then this is the place to go.

My husband and I were looking for a quiet relaxing break which us exactly what we got staying mid-week. We had a nice good sized room overlooking the court yard. We had stayed here through a deal which we were happy with but hotel overall needs some TLC and we were glad we had not paid full price.

We dined in Basil's Restaurant which was excellent and certainly a hightlight of our stay. Sheila was attentive, chatty and amusing and we enjoyed her company.

We dined in the Italian restaurant in the sister hotel which was also very enjoyable . The sister hotel is more modern in appearance and significantly better looking than the Green.

We had a great time at this hotel ! We stayed overnight with a net voucher which included a 3 course meal & a bottle of wine in our room on arrival , we went for lunch in Jocks bar in the afternoon , we had steak pie & Scampi ,which was fine apart from the vegetables which were the
Frozen type I suspect, the bar staff were very good as the place was very busy due to the bank
Holiday, our room (20) was very clean and had a nice view of large garden, the dinner was very good as we both had steak (small supplement) and a nice bottle of red wine ,if we could submit a special mention to Calum & James who worked extremely hard to ensure our meal was enjoyable !
(James's jokes are all my mine by the way !!) anyway try this wee hotel out you will not be disappointed !

Room Tip: We were in room number 20 ( nice view of garden! )
