“Fabulous fish”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

There was always a queue which speaks for itself. I have heard others comment that they "will never eat another fish supper on the mainland" after savouring the beautifully fresh, beautifully cooked fish from this small, hard-working establishment which has a small (very small and cosy) eating-in area as well as the takeaway.

The anticipation of good food was rewarded and It left a smile on faces.

Several people on the top deck of the ferry leaving Lerwick pointed the café out to each other - what an accolade for a fish and chip shop!

Brilliant.

“Large portions”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

Fish tea is great, what a plate full you get. Very good choice on the menu, not expensive. Not a large seating area but ample. Staff friendly and food piping hot.

“Felt like I had food poisoning.”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

Ok where to start this place could be considered excellent value for money. Thats if you didn't have an iffy stomach the next day.
The staff are friendly.
The place is grotty but its a fish and chip shop for petes sake.
There are much better places to eat in Lerwick like hays dock or the queens.
Even a take away pizza from oslas beat this place for me.
Cant believe I'm the only guy unhappy with this place.

Your old fashioned cafe which serves basic good old fashioned food without any frills! Very small so to get a table makes you feel like one of the elite!!

“That is what you call a weekend lunch!”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

I have been going to the Fort Chip Shop as long as I remember. I particularly love the fried, battered fish and the smoked sausage. Yet there is a bit of an ironic moment when you leave the chippy because there are always seagulls hanging about there and they dive into you and pinch the chips when you least expect it.
