On arrival Sandra made us very welcome hot cuppa and biscuits.
Room was real home from home, everything you need and more. Tea coffee milk and juice in room. Microwave, fridge, tv, kettle, hairdryer and iron in room.

There was a basket with first aid kit sewing kit face wipes shower gel and soaps if you forget your own.

The breakfast Sandra served was to die for, didn't need to eat again till evening .
I wouldn't hesitate to come back here again and would recommend the Woosung to anyone traveling to Shetland !

Rented a twin room for the weekend. Did not have an ensuite but shower and toilet only a few steps away. Sandra was helpful from start to finish: answered questions promptly through email and provided directions. Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. Excellent breakfast and even better conversation. Would highly recommend and look forward to staying again.

We stayed here during our 2 week trip to Shetland and could not have been more comfortable or well looked after. The room was spacious, very clean & well serviced throughout our stay. We were provided with a travel cot in our room and also a high chair at the breakfast table for our 8 month old baby. Sandra, the proprietor, had good knowledge of places we wanted to go to and things to see all over Shetland. This B&B is in central Lerwick, so was very easy for us to access all town amenities. We really enjoyed staying at this B&B - definitely an excellent one, we have rated it higher than any others we have stayed in & recommend to any visitors to Shetland. Thank you, Sandra.

This is a fantastic place to be, Home from home. The rooms are Clean, its great value for money and the owner Sandra is most friendly. I have stayed here on several occasions and would not hesitate to go back at any time. I have stayed in other guest houses in Lerwick and none compare to this 100% 10 out of 10.

Room Tip: Go by word of mouth, not what the advert says.....

My mother, daughter and myself stayed with Sandra at the beautiful Woosung B&B from 4th-8th June, 2012. We couldn't have asked for a more hospitable, friendly and comfortable place to stay. Not only was our room spacious with facilities I've never had in a B&B before, fridge, trays, cutlery and crockery, biscuits, sweets and copious amounts of tea and coffee, but also we received exceptional care from Sandra. She was very concerned about my Mom especially having to negotiate the stairs and went out of the way to provide all the extras we required.
If you have the pleasure of travelling to the beautiful Shetlands make sure you stay here. You will not better this place!!! Thank you Sandra and Danny.

I should have written this review a long time ago - but have been busy! Sandra was very accommodating. We travelled last August/September with our son who was 7. Sandra arranged an extra bed for him, with bedding at no extra cost. We were delighted to have a small fridge in our large room (with very high ceilings) and a tea tray set with crockery. This allowed us to have a light meal in our room (rather then eating out - which becomes boring after doing this for 8 nights in a row). We stayed two nights with Sandra and she was kind enough to clean our plates and remove the rubbish we had from the first night (we did not expect this). The water was lovely and hot - the bathroom was clean and functional although outside of our room. Breakfast was superb and our son was asked in advance what he would like. Sandra also knits and has a few items for sale, the proceeds of which, she donates to a local charity. If we are ever in Lerwick again - we would choose to stay with her again. We were so well looked after. This is truly like home from home. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Helpful emails before arrival. Sandra picked me up at the bus stop, which made my arrival easier. After a welcoming cup of tea, I was given a choice of two rooms. Sandra goes out of her way to cater to her guests’ needs and requests. Sandra maintains her equanimity even when disaster strikes (burst pipe taking one room out of action on the busy Up Helly Aa weekend, power outage, etc.). I appreciated being allowed to self-cater. Sandra enjoys what she does, being a host to visitors, wanting them to enjoy their stay in Shetland.

I had a twin standard with sink. The room has a desk/vanity table, clothes cupboard, comfortable chair, small TV and digital box, good modern sink with single-handled faucet (which I like), kettle, mini-fridge. A microwave oven, toaster and better desk seating were generously brought in for me. There is also a choice of terry and lighter-cotton bathrobes, a clock radio, books to read, dictionary, notepad and pen, chocolates, cookies. In a basket with the hair-blower were washcloths (not always seen in this country’s accommodations), soap, shampoo, cleansing wipes, sewing kit, razor, electrical plug adapter, etc. Best equipped place I’ve seen. Clean and well serviced daily. There is good, reliable wi-fi access. I relied heavily on wi-fi and didn’t have any trouble with it.
Unfortunately (in my opinion), smoking is allowed in guest rooms.

Woosung’s location is ideal. It’s just a few blocks to the commercial centre, Garrison Theatre, Isleburgh Community Centre, Town Hall, and it’s on the Up Helly Aa procession route! Can hear the chiming of the Town Hall clock. About a 15-minute walk to the leisure centre and its good swimming pool, to two grocery stores and to Toll Clock Shopping Centre, where there’s a healthfood store.

Room Tip: not all rooms have a sink in the room
