Just wanted to say a huge thanks - sadly stayed only one night on short trip but everything was fantastic - fabulous room, great food and really good range of beers too. Thanks for helping out when I had forgotton my cufflinks! Will be posting back today!

Popped in for lunch, lovely food. Had carrot and coriander soup which was lovely followed by haddock, salad, chips and homemade tartare sauce which couldn't be faulted. Coffee with delicious shortbread to follow. My 3rd visit and never fails to impress me.

The hotel was chosen by the tour operator who arranged our trip, but it turned out to be just what we wanted and it exceeded our expectations. We had a room on the ground floor which was obviously fitted out for disabled travellers. It had a bathroom as big as the bedroom and we had a sitting room as well. The meals were excellent and our only criticism is that the portions were too big! We suspect that the owner's dog had a very high class diet as it seemed to be fed on the left overs! The hotel is situated above the town next to the Highland Distillery, but there was no need to visit it as the hotel stocked well over 300 single malts.

Room Tip: If it is available, ask for the disabled room on the ground floor.

We booked a suite on an offer which included dinner.
Our room was absolutely lovely, the bathroom was beautiful and the lounge enjoyed views over Kirkwall.
A childs bed and travel cot were kindly provided and our own bed was enormous.
Our little ones and ourselves were welcomed in the restaurant and a highchair was provided.
The food was absolutely lovely and some of the best value we've enjoyed in Orkney so far.
Breakfast was also very nice and we found the owners pleasant and quite friendly when we spoke to them.
The only minor points which let the hotel down were an untidy entrance way and staff that could have been just a little more knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Overall, a good, almost great night out. A little expensive for us to stay regularly but we definitely plan to eat here again soon.

I have stayed in this Hotel as I had a great stay in the owner´s previous hotel on Westray and when looking for a place to stay in Kirkwall I had found Lynnfield hotel by accident. As in the other Hotel, comfort and Service have been great. Very cosy lounge and good Food, a nice room with a view to the sea. I would definitely go there again. Very helpfull staff, too !!
