We were looking for a centrally positioned place to stay that would give us easy access to the town but would also be quiet. This fitted the bill perfectly. It was also very clean and tidy and well fitted out with a very comfortable bed and good kitchen facilities. This matters to us as we like to self-cater as well as eat out. Although there is no parking on the street/property, there is a large car park within a couple of minutes walk.Lovely host. Would highly recommend.
The apartment was everything that we needed, lovely position in town, very clean and tidy.
So nice to be able to walk everywhere in town and not worry about getting about.
Very cosy apartment and every thing you need, nice welcome from Emma and the goodies in the basket nice touch Emma.
We will stay with you again when we return.

Absolutely everything that i needed for my 7day stay here. This apartment is 11 steps from the main street and the grocery store; 5 mins walk to the main bus station frm where you can go almost snywhere on the mainland; and car hire company is 2 blocks away.
Its warm ... comfortable ... wifi is excellent ... quiet ... safe ... and there is a coffee shop just across the road!!!!!
Felt like home. Loved it.
Excellent location, shops and restaurants are within a two minute walk and other amenities are close by. Accommodation was clean warm and cosy and would happily return to stay again. The owners, Sam and Emma were very helpful and welcoming.
This is a lovely one-bedroomed house on a quiet street right in the heart of .Kirkwall. It is modern, warm, comfortable and has all the facilities you could want, apart from a dishwasher (and you're probably going to want to enjoy the local eating places most of the time so won't have many dishes to wash!). There is a television and good wifi connection. Ideal for those without a car as the bus station and ferry terminals are less than 5 minutes walk away. (For those with a car there are public car parks nearby). There is a Co-op store at the end of the street for your food shopping, and several local eating places. These tend to be very popular though, so booking a table is a good idea. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming and we would certainly use this accommodation again.
We had a great week in Orkney based at Elska Apartment. We enjoyed staying in Kirkwall, with good shops and pubs selling local food and drink. The apartment is in a quiet street but centrally located, just off the main shopping street. The location is ideal for exploring without a car - 5 minutes walk from Kirkwall Travel Centre, from where buses go to most parts of the island.
The apartment itself is comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We appreciated the newly fitted shower, and Sam and Emma were friendly and welcoming both in our email correspondence and on our arrival.
Based in the heart of Kirkwall this lovely accommodation is fitted with everything you would require for an Orkney break . Close to all Kirkwalls attractions there are many good eating places within a short walking distance, including the Old Library Cafe Bar just across the road which is well worth a visit . The house was clean and warm with two lovely recliner chairs which were very welcome at the end of busy days. Emma was there to meet us with a very warm welcome and we would have had no problem contacting her if there had been any issues with the accommodation which of course there wasn't. Would definatly book again for future holidays to Orkney.
