Myself and husband went yesterday for sunday lunch for the first time to this restuarant. It was very busy but we got served striaght away by our lovely waitress who even found us a table by the fire. This is a lovely place with a great ambiance, and good service but unfortunatly, it went downhill from there! I ordered half a roast chicken and chips with a roasted garlic and parsley dip. If that chicken saw an oven I'll eat my hat. the skin could only be described as gelatenous! see through slimey and wobbly, it was awful. the 'chips' were frozen, small overcooked wedges which tasted of cardboard, and the dip was the best. Mayo with TWO WHOLE RAW GARLIC CLOVES plonked in it! It was a joke. My hubby ahd fish and chips, and whilst nowhere near as bad as mine, tasted like a cheap frozen battered fish you'd get from the supermarket, served with cheap tasting frozen chips. Our waitress took mine off the bill and looked embarrased when I showed her the dip. This was a special occasion lunch completely ruined by by sub-standard pre packed food at a high price. There is just no excuse for it. Wont be going again.
