Had gone to see Gauntlet birds of prey and went to garden centre for lunch, lovely granary bread sandwiches, nice atmosphere too.

Well the actual food was OK -not great for the price - good service - waiter very attentive and polite!

However, the only drawback for myself and my friend were the chairs! We sat in the newish bit at the top of the restaurant ! |Looks very nice wicker chairs - but wow they are very very uncomfortable - I actually had pins and needles and a dead leg! we are both of medium height but both were uncomfortable and a couple on the net table also commented on the chairs too!

Overall a decent enough lunch but would not go again if they only have seats at that top end!

We went for lunch, our table was set without even cleaning it.
when asked to clean, we had all the cleaning spray over our cutlery and clothes.
wrong soup served for lunch.
Generally young waitresses looked as though they hated working there.

We arrived just at the end of a peak flurry of activity (13:00 on a Saturday). The staff engaged with us at the entrance and allowed us to sit and check the menu while waiting for a table to be freed up. Service was rapid, and the staff allowed us to make some adjustments beyond the kids menu choices.

The quality of the food was excellent, well presented, and you certainly felt that you were getting your money's worth. This is definitely not basic cafe food, and the Jenga chips are excellent.

If you want to go to the Gauntlet Falconry centre (which is located at the other end of the car park), then this makes a good option for a snack / meal before or after that.

Tucked away in a Garden Centre this restaurant offers good value for money. The food is high quality with plenty choice. The puddings are to die for! When we visited it was obvious that a lot of locals use this hidden treasure. The service was also good.
