Owner description: Gauntlet, Eagle & Vulture park is the largest bird of prey park in the Northwest of England. With over 120 birds of prey, ranging from the smallest owls to the worlds largest eagle and Vultures it really is a haven for animal lovers. Gauntlet has two daily shows at 12.30 and 3 during the months March-Oct and during the winter months weekends only. As well as our two daily displays we have vulture feeding and meet & greet. We have a large children's play area with plenty of room for picnics. We are on the same site as Fryers garden centre and you can leave at anytime and come back for our displays. For those wishing to get closer we have bird of prey experiences which are run 7 days a week throughout the year. This gives people the opportunity to handle and fly the birds.

I visited here a few years back for an Owl Experience and it was amazing!
Visiting here again with some friends and family a few days ago it was just as amazing, displays of the birds were fantastic!
The people here are all friendly and welcoming also :)

Imagine a bird of prey with a wing span of 8' flying close over you head, and feeling the down draft, then another flies over from a different angle, then in seconds they are joined by several different birds. Incredible, just like a scene in a wildlife film.
I have never experienced anything quite so moving, and the sheer wonder on my grandson's face will live with me forever.
You must go !!! The staff are brill.

Talk on Vultures, opportunity to watch them feeding, very informative talk and flying display. Loads of background information on the birds.
Great fun had by the children in finding all the stamps for their "passports".
Would definitely go again!

I visited here on the 14/08/13 with my 2 children and what greeted us was a small and what can only be described as a hell hole for the birds that actually have to survive there i say survive as there is no way on earth you can say if given the option they would want to live there.
The poor birds looked like they were poorly looked after the cages they were placed in looked like they had not been cleaned in a very long time and one of the cages had such a big hole in it that the vulture that was in it could actually get its head through it and was trying to get out not that i would blame it for trying to escape.
Also most of the birds were all tied down there birds they need to fly not just perch there and not be able to move very far.
It took less than 20 minuets to go around the whole grounds and that was trying to take our time they have stamps for the kids to collect of different birds but this took my lads 2 minuets to do this place should be condemned and closed down for the sake of the birds.
